Lucas jabs at 'Bush's empire'. the articles keep rolling in.
Many of us Star Wars fans have been saying this for years...especially after the similarities fleshed out in episode 2. The media is a little late catching on to this message.

I'm enjoying though that the media and public are buzzing about it.

It's not that Lucas is picking on Bush. Lucas had this them in the original trilogy...it was just more subtle and disconnected from the american conscience. Nonetheless, the theme is real and has existed since the dawn of man.

The fact that parallels are becoming more evident now is vindication not just for Lucas' views but also for the wisdom (that Lucas draws on) that history shows us if we care to look, listen and learn.

Bush and his cohort are walking right into history's trap that Lucas and many of us on this planet including the American left were already keenly aware of.

this the best article I've seen yet...

1. Nice
Ah yes, the old republic gone empire scheme. It worked for Rome, Moscow,Corusant, and yes, it might work for Washington. Bush and Co. can only hope. If that happens we will wave the Decleration of Independence in Bushy's face and remove him.

3. And George Lucas as I remember is Buddhist - many wonderful parallels
to Buddhist teachings in ALL Star Wars...

One of my favorites:
"Fear Leads To Anger,
Anger Leads to Hate,
Hate Leads to Suffering"
-Master Yoda

"There is Suffering
There is a cause of Suffering
There can be an end to Suffering
The 8-fold path brings about the end of Suffering"
-Lord Buddha (this is from the Four Noble Truths)
