9. I think "leaned on" may be an understatement
It's amazing what people will agree to when they come home and find a severed horse's head in their bed.

4. No, the source was accurate
The source maintains that this stuff happened, it's which documents they saw it in that they got confused over.

That was enough of an error, apparently, for the right wingers to start shouting that the story was false and NW should be ashamed of themselves, and if you print bad news about America the terrorists win and blah blah blah.

6. Are you kidding?
It isn't about the content but which document the content came from?

This sounds fishy.

7. That is true
Read the stories more carefully, and you'll see that only the bush administration (and it's minions) are saying it's not true.

They are panicking trying to get everyone else to believe that it's not true, however.

8. I'm not kidding
"On Saturday, Isikoff spoke to his original source, the senior government official, who said that he clearly recalled reading investigative reports about mishandling the Qur'an, including a toilet incident. But the official, still speaking anonymously, could no longer be sure that these concerns had surfaced in the SouthCom report."

That's what this "controversy" is about.

11. Heard they let it through
Didn't complain until this furor. Why didn't the govt. state that the Koran issue was faulty. Could it be that the WH didn't see a problem with the flushing? Certainly not torture! Ha!

10. sure, as soon as Novak reveals the treasonous bastard in the WH
who outed Plame

right back at ya.

btw: both stories are true: the Koran incident was reported over a year ago, before Newsweek.

And some treasonous bastard in the White House outed a CIA agent to extort silence.
oh, and they also torture prisoners and ignore the Geneva Convention.
OOOOOH, and they also "render" prisoners to ruthless regimes who torture prisoners.
OOOOOOOOH, and they also refuse to take any responsibility for their actions

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOH, and they like to blame the media for reporting the truth. This administration has "accidently" killed more journalists than any other country.

so put that in your "newsweak" pipe and smoke it.

13. lol! well, actually I thought I was a bit over the top...
but the idea that TORTURING people is ok, but REPORTING on the torture is blasphemous, is an idea that could only come from a certain mindset, one which I do not share.
