Bob "Buckwheat" Barr
was flipping through the channels last night, and ran across him on Book TV, peddling his bullshit screed. According to Bob, the American people were demanding Clinton be impeached, and Clinton's "lies" singlehandedly bought down this country:

4. Hey, Bobby, what have the billions we've spent on Iraq, the ever-
escalating deficits, the murder of innocents, the torture of innocents, and the rape of the world's environment have to do with Bill Clinton? Go pawn your lying book on another planet; maybe some piece of lava will believe you.

7. because he harps on Clinton's "lies"
but what of Bush's?

Who was sucking Clinton's dick wasn't my business. OK -- so he "lied" about it. That was between him and his wife. I don't consider Clinton "lying" to me, or to the country for that matter.

Bush is dicking the entire country, based on outrageous lies.

Bush's lies make Clinton's look like the truth, in retrospect.

13. No you didn't.
Edited on Mon May-16-05 08:00 PM by CatWoman
I never, EVER, once said or implied Clinton was perfect.

He was an imperfect man in an imperfect world.

And you still didn't tell me what "lies" he told.

If you want to paint my reasoning as "reckless", either put up or shut up.

That WMD dog just won't hunt.

The WMD we gave Iraq were used up in the first Gulf War. The remainder were destroyed via inspections.

26. That's one.
What were the others?

I'm sure you are truly outraged by Bush's lies, eh?

But of course, if Lord God Bush lies, it is for the best of the country, right?

50 million dollars spent to bring down a President. Not one fucking wrong proved except for saying he didn't get a fucking blowjob.

Meanwhile, when Clinton tried to KILL OSAMA BIN LADEN, republicans cried "wag the dog" and refused to back the president's efforts. Loyalty to the party and not to the Nation. Congratulations. Your folks have effectively fucked up this country for decades to come.

28. you see I didn't even bother to respond
to the "stuck on blowjob" crowd.

Funny thing about the other side: they are the most sexually deviant, twisted fucks on the face of the Earth. Just as long as no one else does it, tho.

They rape their wives up the ass. Knock up their daughters. Feel up and anally rape their sons. Stalk their girlfriends, and threaten them with bodily harm. Start wars for no fucking reason. Loot the u.s. treasury. Lie us into a war against an unarmed country. Reap millions upon millions from war profiteering, all from the blood of our loved ones who are fighting this illegal war -- yet, the bottom line is -- the only thing that matters is -- the one, salient fact in their lives is --

Bill Clinton got a fucking blowjob.

15. He lied about a question he never should have been asked
Starr was on a witch hunt. When he couldn't find anything in Whitewater, he moved on, and on, and on, until he found something that stuck.

Is adultery illegal? Would we normally have gone after Clinton for having an affair? Or was it because she was an intern?

If adultery wasn't the crime, then he shouldn't have been asked the question. Hell, CEO's have affairs I'm sure. But as long as the company is making money, does anyone care?

We were relatively peaceful and prosperous under Clinton. But the Right never, ever left him alone. They were looking for reasons to impeach him by Day 2. I remember watching some of them on CSPAN, before I really cared about politics, and I remember thinking, "He doesn't get a honeymoon, does he." Well, not with these guys. I can't remember what they were railing against, but they were making comments about their fat, Big Mac eating president. I think the issue was either abortion or gay rights.

I remember thinking that respect for the office only seems to apply when the President is Republican. Not supporting the President is treasonous, unless that President is a Democrat, then it's cool.

Hypocrisy. And one of the main Congressmen coming at Clinton had an affair of his own, it turns out. But that wasn't supposed to matter.

21. which one?
I was talking about Bob Barr.

However, we also have Henry Hyde, Newt Gingrich, Bob Livingston.

All railing for Clinton's head, yet all were diddling other women behind their wives backs.

22. Might have been Livingston
The one who had to resign because he talked about how terrible it was morally, what Clinton did, but then it turned out that years before he'd also had an affair. He'd explained that it was years before and his wife had forgiven him. And that's probably when the Conservatives switched from adultery being the problem to Clinton lying about it being the problem.

19. I'm not standing here saying anything
except it was none of their damned business in the first place. It was Hillary's business.

Lied he did, or at least went through some mental gymnastics to rationalize to himself that he wasn't lying. And he as since admitted it, said he regretted it, said he only did it because he could, and what a lousy reason that was. Indeed. But we've had horndog presidents before, JFK for one, without anyone having a hairy cat fit.

18. actually

the meaning of the word "is" is one of the hardest problems in semantic theory. many languages get along fine without an obligatory copula.

go ahead, try to define it. i always wanted to ask one of those right wing ranters who love to go on and on about "the meaning of the word 'is'" to give it their best shot. They'd have to do better than many linguists and philosophers to avoid a tautology.

30. Another classic from Catwoman!
HA!! Bob 'Buckwheat' Barr!!!

Sorry, Bob, I watched every minute of those hearings and vividly remember Clintons ratings going up higher and higher every day. Seems to me it wasn't the 'American people' who wanted Clinton impeached.

I also remember being furious at this group of morons TELLING me how pissed off I was supposed to be at Clinton for getting a blow job, but should pay NO attention to the fat man (Henry Hyde) who is running the hearings and screwing around on HIS wife at the same time.

Do you ever stop and think about how much simpler life would be if you could just make yourself believe the shit the RW keeps trying to feed us??

:hi:

Life may be simplier, that's for sure.

However, where logic exists, it tends to over rule.

Suffice to say it doesn't exist on that side.
