Sharpton rips Dean: Newsmax trash?
A "friend" sent this to me yesterday, and I haven't been able to find it anywhere else. Is this more rubbish from Newsmax, or did Sharpton actually say this stuff?

Sharpton: Dean's DNC Excludes Blacks

The Rev. Al Sharpton blasted Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean on Tuesday, saying that under his leadership, African-Americans have been excluded from top Democratic Party positions.

"I'm taking Dean to task right now for the lack of black inclusion at the highest levels of the Democratic Party," Sharpton told WWRL radio hosts Steve Malzberg and Karen Hunter. "It's the lowest in thirty years."
.......

"We ought to have more to show ," he complained. "And we should ask why, as the Republicans, ironically, are running blacks , that has left blacks out of the top echelon of the Democratic Party."

Sharpton also said that Dean needed to apologize for racially charged remarks last February, where the top Democrat suggested that Republicans could attract blacks to their party if they summoned the "hotel staff."

1. Perhaps Al can explain why the Congressional Black Caucus protects WalMart
I'd love to hear an explanation of THAT first.

3. Here ya go

---snip---
The Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) has flatly rejected a major labor union’s call to cut ties to Wal-Mart lobbyists and executives who have been canvassing the Capitol in search of new friends and allies.

Black lawmakers say they will continue to listen to Wal-Mart – as they would any other group interested in building a relationship — and will not be bullied by what they regard as the Service Employees International Union’s (SEIU) inappropriate attempt to “put the CBC in its place” with instructions to shun the world’s largest employer.

4. Sharpton's allegations have nothing to do with Wal-Mart!
And Sharpton is a not a member of the CBC, so he doesn't have to answer for them. But if it's true about Dean, then I'm angrily disappointed. He better fix it and fix it fast!

7. Sharpton claims to be speaking on behalf of black Americans.
So does the Congressional Black Caucus. Don't try to tell me the two are not related in any way.

5. I meant Sharpton's comments
I don't trust Newsmax to report on the current time and temperature.

It sounds like Wal Mart is paying off the CBC.

8. oh, well, I can't speak to that.
and yes, of course they're being bought. So much for Al Sharpton's rant at the Convention about how black votes can't be bought.... :eyes:

6. Why did Al Sharpton hire a Repuke as a campaign manager?
The Repuke he hired in Fall 2003 for his 2004 Primary campaign had helped disenfranchise blacks in Florida in 2000.

Al Sharpton is a hypocrite!

And in regard to Dean and hiring blacks to help manage the DNC, guess Al missed this TAP article -- The Chairman's Colorful Cabinet
Howard Dean is bringing minorities to the top of the minority party. That's rarer than you might think.

9. Why is everyone turning the tables on Sharpton?
Dean is more important and is the leader of the party. Minorities have to the right to ask why we don't have a seat at the roundtable at the DNC!
