For those who may call me a conspiracy theorist. Please read this:
This statement, made by a "senior advisor to Bush" is one of the most chilling I've ever read. I believe the speaker could easily be Rove and the hubris, unmistakably BushCo.
This is why I question everything. And I mean everything.

Written by Ron Suskind in the NY Times Magazine Oct 17, 2004:

snip

In the summer of 2002, after I had written an article in Esquire that the White House didn't like about Bush's former communications director, Karen Hughes, I had a meeting with a senior adviser to Bush. He expressed the White House's displeasure, and then he told me something that at the time I didn't fully comprehend -- but which I now believe gets to the very heart of the Bush presidency.

The aide said that guys like me were ''in what we call the reality-based community,'' which he defined as people who ''believe that solutions emerge from your judicious study of discernible reality.'' I nodded and murmured something about enlightenment principles and empiricism. He cut me off. ''That's not the way the world really works anymore,'' he continued. ''We're an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while you're studying that reality -- judiciously, as you will -- we'll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that's how things will sort out. We're history's actors . . . and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do.''

23. Yes! It's called the period of "Enlightenment."
When we begin to realize these thoughts and troubled, we're getting there - the truth will set all of us free.

Here's hoping the "truth" comes out ASAP! We deserve nothing less.

This is, without a shred of doubt, the manifestation of a pathology: sociopathic and megalomaniacal ... the pathologies of all tyrants.

I never have forgotten that, having seen it back then.

It explains a lot, like they don't care about what we in the reality based community call "facts" or truth.

22. Knew it from Day 1: Instincts, Gut-Wrenching Feelings. Great Post!
The only thing history will be sorting out is how so many followed in step w/this "reality creator." Mr. Bubble-Boy & Co. has grown so massive in their treasonable lies, no bubble that huge can sustain without blowing within itself.

I await the burst and hope those in that "new creation of realities" gang are the only ones caught in the draft to follow.

P.S. Did anyone remember all the 9/11 live TV shots of Senator Clinton at Ground Zero... for days I watched her expression of pure, unadulterated "anger." And then when Bubble-Boy gave that 1st speech. Again, Sen. Clinton was the only 1 and whomever it was standing next to her that barely stood in ovations, nor clapped. She had a chilling look on her face.

It's just my thoughts, but it hit me the other day out of the clear blue, like Suskind's thoughts above. Especially when I read a report last night over at the Huffington Post regarding all the money suddenly being withheld from New York for education & Homeland Security. It was then I remembered Sen. Clinton's look - that chilling look.

Coming out of PTSS, shock, and all the damn lies and fear-factors this adm has shoved on us daily I might add (Congressional Rethugs) and there is was. Who was in those Twin Towers? Supporters for things that Bubble Boy's gang couldn't control.

Yeah. I'm no Conspiracy Theorists either, then again I no longer believe in the Tooth Fairy, Santa Claus or "coincidences" either.

of the world who believe that diplomatic, passive responses will be warmly received and moreover respected by those who promote war and death and destruction.

Warm and fuzzy, intelligent discourse is not their "lingo".

While we're framing and 'discoursing' they are creating "realities" for us to clean up and blame on the *Islamic terrorists*.

27. But that is sort of true though...
Look at what the guy says, "We're history's actors." That is true of any leader in any country in almost any position. Their actions are what make the news which is then disseminated by us. Chilling is the hubris of the empire comment, yet the point of the comment is absolutely true, especially in foreign policy circles.

Your Flag Decal Won't Get You Into Heaven Anymore
© John Prine

While digesting Reader's Digest
In the back of a dirty book store,
A plastic flag, with gum on the back,
Fell out on the floor.
Well, I picked it up and I ran outside
Slapped it on my window shield,
And if I could see old Betsy Ross
I'd tell her how good I feel.

Chorus:
But your flag decal won't get you
Into Heaven any more.
They're already overcrowded
From your dirty little war.
Now Jesus don't like killin'
No matter what the reason's for,
And your flag decal won't get you
Into Heaven any more.

Well, I went to the bank this morning
And the cashier he said to me,
"If you join the Christmas club
We'll give you ten of them flags for free."
Well, I didn't mess around a bit
I took him up on what he said.
And I stuck them stickers all over my car
And one on my wife's forehead.

Repeat Chorus:

Well, I got my window shield so filled
With flags I couldn't see.
So, I ran the car upside a curb
And right into a tree.
By the time they got a doctor down
I was already dead.
And I'll never understand why the man
Standing in the Pearly Gates said...

"But your flag decal won't get you
Into Heaven any more.
We're already overcrowded
From your dirty little war.
Now Jesus don't like killin'
No matter what the reason's for,
And your flag decal won't get you
Into Heaven any more."

Ozymandius
by: Percy Bysshe Shelley

I met a traveler from an antique land
Who said: Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. Near them, on the sand,
Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whos frown,
And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them and the heart that fed;

And on the pedestal these words appear:
"My name is Ozymandius, king of kings:
Look on my words, ye Mighty, and despair!"
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away.
