Surprise! Surprise! Blitzer doing nice job against Mehlman on CNN
Edited on Tue Jul-12-05 04:24 PM by Feeney2
Mehlman got Hillary, Kerry, and Dean's names all mentioned in his first sentence. How to keep to point.

1. "Management" has told him to do his job.
We'll see how long this lasts. He's a world class weasel but it's nice to hear that he can actually ask a question.

3. they should just say...but why do you work for such liars, Ken?
or...."Just answer the question you slithering prick! When will the Bush administration show accountability and get rid of Rove who obviously had a hand in ratting out one of our undercover CIA officers?"

5. Yes - I had to log onto DU to confirm if anyone else seeing this.
Or I was going crazy. Wolf Blitzer? Holding Mehlmann's feet the fire? Keeping him on topic? Unheard of!

6. Wolf/Les grew some tiny little testicles
for a few moments.

They will probably disappear again before the end of the hour.

7. Doesn't the fact that these guys are NOW doing their job make you even
angrier?! It means they were not being ass-kissers because they believed that Bush was right..they were just kissing it when it was expedient..and now they smell blood and are going for the throat.
They have no more principles than Bushco!!
I would have more respect if they at least had some consistency in their reporting.
They are like rats...running to the nearest plank to get off the sinking ship. If Bush's ratings go up, they will stop going after him, and go right back to the old format of kissing his butt again.
Wolf Blitzer and his ilk are disgusting.

8. which is why "Jane, you ignorant slut" was such a funny SNL line
because the point/counterpoint discussion in news is so ridiculous...and because in point of fact most of them ARE ignorant sluts. selling their bodies and their commentaries to what looks like the best game in town at that moment.

13. Very plausible theory. Well thought out and it makes a lot of sense.

The guillotine is no longer hanging over their necks...
but..it sure does not speak well of their basic integrity.

Access takes precedence over honest reporting and inquiry.
They could ALL have boycotted the press conferences. The old "I AM SPARTACUS" routine...

10. Blizter definitely kept him on the defensive.
I love how panicked Mehlman got when Wolf asked him if he testified or knew about conversations about Wilson/Plame.
