GERGEN: 'What did the President know and when did he know it?'
GERGEN: 'What did the President know and when did he know it?'
Even David Gergen asks 'The Question' on ABC's This Week!

'I think this is a big, serious story,' says the advisor to three Republican Presidents (including Nixon)

Wow...Even Gergen is asking!

Picking up on my previous post about the "the question" -- What did the President know and when did he know it? -- on the virtual lips of folks across the net this morning, it seems that it was also on the lips of David Gergen, advisor to four Presidents (three of them Republican), on this morning's This Week with George Stephanopoulos on ABC...

1. Thx for posting that.
I missed all the shows this morning - had to drag daughter to register for her baby shower.

There are times tho, I just don't understand George Stephanopoulos' view on things. Is he right or left 'cause staying in the middle just doesn't work for him.

3. For what it's worth...
At least Stephanopoulos seemed to take the TreasonGate matter mostly seriously today!

(UNlike Brit on Fox News Sunday...as expected. He barely gave it three sentences.)

2. One of the few somewhat decent Republicans; Gergen doesn't like this
Yes, he toes the party line in lots of critical instances, and it's hard to say anything nice about anyone affiliated with that party after what they've shown themselves to be of late. Still, he has some integrity and he has some sense of decency.

He's also a pretty sharp guy and not for sale.

This is good to hear.

11. Oh. That.
Do you notice how people who actually accomplish things, whether it's starting their own Fortune 500 company or winning an Oscar, don't bother hanging around with these silly, blueblooded puppetmasters? You won't see Steve Jobs or Denzel Washington on these kinds of lists.
What a bunch of dorks.

4. I think Gergen's changed his tune since the last time I saw him on TV --
I wonder what it was that convinced him that this scandal may go all the way to the top.

6. I agree
the last time I saw him was on the Paula Zahn Show where she surprised me by acting thoroughly fed up with Bush, and David Gergen was trying to tell us about 'strategy' and that Bush hadn't done all that badly in his speech. She got impatient with that, AIRC, as I know did. Who wants to hear how things ought to be manipulated, we want the truth?

Glad to hear he's changing his mind. This stuff is hard to ignore, and I think it's been manipulated enough ~ hopefully criminal prosecutions are on the way. Too bad they indictments won't be for their war crimes, but whatever stops them is fine with me.
