Filmed ALL of Conyers 23rd Meet - those who sent me there get it ALL
some will get many copies of the Detroit Town Hall and "Rove's War" for their incredible generosity and support!

Just got back from the Conyers Town Hall in Detroit where I filmed it ALL (and some really great outtakes) and I'm going to send the whole Town Hall DVDs to each of you as a bonus for helping me get the film and making it possible to get the word out..

John Conyers office will get the whole film for use as they see fit on the web as well.

My way of saying THANK YOU for getting me to the scene, I know there were many, many Events all across the US, but to me I had to get the man who is the Father of this movement's Town Hall - wish I could have been at more of them, but there's only one of me and I'm exhausted - my tripod got smashed on the way home and I'm bummed at that right now..

Folks seem to really enjoy the projection on a giant screen in the Law College right at the beginning of the event of the "Rove's War" 12 minute Preview - and I handed out about 100 of the DVDs at the door - it was good to see the reactions of the crowd as I linked the DSM and Rove in the film.

I'll be posting some links soon, but have massive editing to do so it looks cool, clean, and sound levels are mixed properly.

You folks are the Best and it's an honor to have flown the great distanced to capture it - an incredible piece of history, out flowing of love, promises to get more involved and keep this issue at the top of the Media Chain.

I was a little disappointed to not see Takebackthemedia.com mentioned anywhere - we've been fighting on this most important issue for so long and doing the grunt work and it's a bit disheartening to get no mention on so many websites.

I get worried sometimes that folks on the web seem to have their agendas and that where the actual footage comes from makes no difference, gladly used but not credited, while I literally beg to travel huge distances to get footage.

I suppose I shouldn't be bitching about being left out when I was at one of the centers of this storm, maybe it's because I'm so exhausted (left Hawaii on Friday at 2pm in the afternoon, flew all night, showed up in Detroit at 8am, filmed from noon to 4pm slept for a few hours and then flew all day Sunday from Michigan to Hawaii to excitedly see how many people/sites had promoted some extremely hard work, and then not find a single mention of TBTM.)

I saw a few posts that I'd been there, but nothing of the showing of the film at the very start of the Event.

A bit bummed, but very thankful to those who sent me there to film it and I will be more than happy to give them EVERYTHING I filmed, their faith in me wanting to put in a hard day's night and making it work gets them top honors in my book, and whatever I got, is all theirs :)

Sorry to sound left behind by other sites that have a single minded purpose, but it looked grim to me when I returned to find not a word about TBTM - well, some fine folks made me feel appreciated and they will get all of my loyalty - you know who you are :)

If everyone has it all under control, and are in love with their websites to the point where others don't matter, they can just take over and I'll expend my energies elsewhere.

But I'll be sure and get copies of everything I've done to this point to those who got my back.

Really just wanted to thank my heroes and heroines that helped me to attend and document a historical event.

I know John Conyers appreciated me - I've got film of him giving me a big old hug in the Wayne Law College Dean's office, and calling me "Brother" - that made a lot of work worthwhile...

Enjoy the clips, where ever they come from,

Thanks to my pals here on the DU, you've got some goodies coming :)

4. The airlines broke the head, cracked the handle clean off
from the main body of it - didn't find out until I got back tonight - now I'll have to go to the Airlines and make a claim, problem is I booked a complicated trip with many airlines on such short notice, for example I had to fly from Detroit to LA, then a plane to San Francisco, then another from there to Hawaii, just today..

Between ATA, United & Northwest I don't really know who did it, and the way these creeps can be in the corporate Airlines they can all point the fingers at each other and I'm the one with a mangled tripod - cracked right at the head, the worse thing you could ask for in a tripod damage sceneario.

You've been so generous, and I love you for it, but Peyton may need more bubbles for Barbie :) and you should make sure that your Marine son gets loaded up with all the gear that Halliburton is cheating the troops out of, live saving gear he'll need.. I'd rather he be safe.

But you are a peach, and I'd do anything for you especially, Binka - you're too kind :)

And I don't want others to think I'm dissing them, I'd just like a little credit from at least a few websites and that basically "newbies" and pushing to get "customers" any way they can..

I'm actually sending out clips to other websites instead of hogging them for myself, not even updating my own website cause I'm so busy and spending all my time getting them to people that are the latest "cool" sites -

People might be amazed at my credibility if they ever heard about how I've researched so many subjects and connections/conclusions that I come to before many of these sites were wondering how these things all hook together.

Boiling down very complex issues do that joe sixpack can comprehend them (republicans as well, fence sitters) is hard enough on the brain - I get a little pissed when I go to events and everyone gets to speak but me, and I've gone more homework than quite a few folks.

It gets a little embarrassing to basically "beg" for money to do something that is VERY Important and can be used in many ways for long reaching effects - in many ways Takebackthemedia.com has had the "goods" on the right wing, and slammed them HARD a long time before others even see what's happening before their own eyes.

Then the crowing begins, and being left out when you may have more credibility and have earned it makes a person think, "Why the hell am I doing this?"

And the truth is, I'm doing it for the cause - while other sites that may be missing important issues or nuances are forging ahead, and creating whole panels comprised of their clique..

Part of my problem perhaps is I'm a bit of a rogue and I'm not interested in clique behaviour, at times it's actually detrimental.

I'm not pointing fingers at any particular group or website, just a general, "Let's run this film from somewhere and WE'll all push our concepts over it or on top of it.."

Maybe I'm too bushed to be posting and writing from the lizard layer of the brain right now. But I have the feeling that I need to be recognized by certain sites (NOT the DU, they have done nothing but save my butt or help me all the way) or I'll just post only on Takebackthemedia.com and lower my scruples like some in the progressive party seem to be doing.. I see nearly republican attitudes as far as integrity issues go worming it's way into Progressive groups and it bothers me.

But you, you my darling are the BOMB :) Thanks so much for your kind offer - I've been working all these years to get some group with huge funding to lay some cash on me and let me run wild with it - most folks know I put in 18 hour days doing all this, and I can't just shovel out all I create so others can basically fundraise for themselves and leave me begging for help.

Maybe it's stupid pride, but it's also a matter of economics - and in that regard you and others here have been saints and shrinks to me :)

As usualy I write too much and always when dead tired, I haven't got more than 4 hours of sleep a whole night since the DSM story broke, either trying to make it cohesive, coherent, and illuminating or just spending tons of time researching it so I can become a mini expert and then like I said, boil it all down for average americans to "get it"..

You're such a sweetheart and many here are so inspirational here, but I'm feeling like a one inch ad in the back of a comic book at this point, and I didn't do 4 years of hard FREE labor on TBTM to get to this point.

I'm just rethinking my position in the progressive (or some of these "hybrid" groups that may not even be democrats) field.

Thanks you for all you've done for me personally, and YOU (and some others) will be REWARDED in Spades, as I'm one loyal person if nothing else :)

6. Hey There...Now Now It's All Good......Let Peyton & I Help You
I KNOW what you are doing and how hard it is and how cut throat and callous people can be...I KNOW. Ben is fixed up hard and good. Deluxe camelbak military grade 3.1 liters, extra sweet night goggles D-321G Generation 3 Grade B Dual-Tube Goggle, and body armor. He's not going into that hell hole without the best, and If I have to fly to fucking Baghdad and protect him with my Mama Power Shield I will.

Screw the airlines we'll donate at TBTM for a new tripod head or entire unit if need be.

Ciao Bello, man is it HOT in Sicily today.

2. thanks symbolman for all of your intrepid efforts.
I too was somewhat surprised by the general lack of coverage for such an enormous event.

My local event was cancelled because of a typo on Conyers' site for the host's e-mail.

I did hear of a lot of folks getting turned away due to space limitations at many of the meetings.

Any other details you can provide after you get some sleep would be greatly appreciated.

3. Thanks for going s-man. I should have known you'd be there...
...and you'll always get my props. You have any extra copies of the Rove's War preview? I'd love to see it.

Sorry you didn't get the acknowledgement you deserve from bloggers. Chin up, my friend. And Never Give Up.

5. I'm so glad you were able to make it!
It was nice to "meet" you. I was the one there wearing the CuckooBananas shirt with the group from DU.
You are very welcome for my contribution, and I agree credit should be given when so well-deserved, as in your case. I've been to your site several times, and appreciate all your efforts. Your work is not only informative, but entertaining, in the sense that it is artistically so well-done. Keep up the great work. We need you!

8. Here's the Preview of the film - it was to only be shown to the Hosts
and Conyers office wanted to make sure that all the people that got the Preview could show it without it being streamed on the web first, in the interest of House Partie's Hosts -

But NOW I can show you the Preview that was see at potentially hundreds of these house Parties and also was the First Item on the agenda in Detroit at the Wayne Law College where Conyers himself held his Town Hall.

Here's the link so you can watch the Preview:

http://www.takebackthemedia.com

Click on the graphic to watch and Please pass the link/work around to all you can, this is an important work and you'll be helping us to do more of this (like I said, the nice folks that donated to get me there are going to get extra goodies along with the film - they'll get the Entire Town Hall held in Detroit by Conyers, with all the speakers)

Sorry if I sounded bummed before folks, I was exhausted and felt like all my work wasn't even being seen for various reasons, like the one above..

So check out the Preview and let me know what you think? The audience loved it at the event :)

Thanks!
