Granny D gets a concert
by email

Dear Friends,

The friends and neighbors of Doris "Granny D" Haddock have put together a concert to help Doris get her message out. I'm going to try to find a way back to New Hampshire from Arizona to be there for this event--Doris has earned our extra efforts!

If you can come, or even if you can't, please consider supporting her work by buying a ticket from the folks who are doing this for her.

I know the people of Peterborough may get a little tired of the fact that their town was where Thornton Wilder wrote "Our Town," and I know the other people of New Hampshire get sick of hearing about it, but, folks, this really is that kind of place, as are the other towns of New Hampshire. This is where democracy lives. Let's keep it growing, and Doris going!

Love,

Dennis Burke

Ps. here is the vital info: Gordon Bok and Jean Redpath perform: DORIS GRANNY D HADDOCK, A TRIBUTE TO AN AMERICAN TREASURE. All proceeds from concert to encourage the use of Granny D’s book (Granny D: You’re Never Too Old to Raise a Little Hell) in more college and university courses. Advance tickets $20 at Good Fortune, Steeles Stationers and all Toadstool Bookshops. Or send check or M.O. with SASE to: Granny D Celebration Concert, P.O. Box 888, Keene, NH 03431 For more information on tickets or how to donate: Send inquiry to Grannydconcert@aol.com Concert: Tuesday, October 25, 2005 7:00 PM Venue: Peterborough Unitarian Church 25 Main Street Peterborough, NH

Use "advanced search" (when it returns) under my name and Will Pitt's, we both posted several articles when she was running for the Senate, and later hospitalized.

Cross-posted to the New Hampshire forum, there is yet one reply.

How soon we forget our heros.

I remember others, including a speaking engagement and demonstration against * in NH during a Pease AFB visit just before her hospitalization, but that's all that came up in a quick search.
