The New Ed Shultz Progressive Talk Radio Commercial...
Edited on Thu Sep-22-05 12:03 PM by Totally Committed
I was just listening to Progressive talk 1200 here in Boston, and hear a commerical for the Ed Shultz Show ehere he just rips Howard Dean a new one for 30 seconds straight. (Have any of you heard it?) THAT is supposed to make me want to listen to his show?

Aside from the fact that I am a big Howard fan, and appreciate the fine job he's doing for this Party, where does ANY radio show host who is supposedly on our side get off publicly ripping apart the titlar head of this Party like that? Why isn't his vitriol (because it was pure anti-Dean vitriol I heard) save for ANYONE on the other side?

Yesterday there was a thread here questioning his "affiliation" and attitude, and I kind of stood up for him. His show is not my cup of tea (too Right, and too guns and sports), but I did stick up for him. I hereby take that back, and....

Ed: if you're reading, you owe Howard Dean and us an apology for that disgraceful Radio spot.

1. Ed Schultz is a former Republican
So, take what he says with a grain of salt.

2. I know that. And, the only good Republican is a former Republican...
but this crossed a line. Howard Dean is not incompetent. He is not out of touch with the Democratic Party or the people who vote in it... at least I don't think he is. ANd all this was said in that ranting scream thing he does. Save it for the bad guys, fercripessake!

4. I don't trust Ed Schultz
Edited on Thu Sep-22-05 11:58 AM by Sandpiper
And have always suspected that his "conversion" had more to do with there being better career prospects (less competition) in doing left-wing talk radio than in any actual change in his ideology.

Honestly, I think the guy's a mole.

3. Would Limbaugh trash Mehlman?
I don't think so. Talk about standing in a circle and shooting each other. That's the pits. Howard Dean is doing a great job. I wish Schultz would aim his jabs at Leahy and the other turncoats instead.

Schultz claims to be big on labor issues, but he doesn't back the Democrats who speak up for labor issues. Roberts on the Supreme Court will be devastating to labor.

6. Maybe he's trying to get Republicans to listen to him? That's what that

commercial would do.

Edited to add: It sure won't bring in Democratic listeners.

7. He is doing this on purpose to keep right wingers...hurting Dean.
Do not defend him on this one. He is trying to keep a certain portion of the right wing by using Howard Dean as a punching bag. If he continues, he will hurt our party.

I wrote to Wendy, and I wrote to the guy who was his producer. I still have the emails. They said big Eddie never apologized.

He is using Howard Dean. If anyone defends him on this one, then shame on you.

I kept the emails. He does not care about facts, and his new former Clear Channel owners only care about ratings.

9. The guy who owns the show now made Rush Limbaugh famous.
I am doing some more research on this.
