On the Value of Calling Them SlimeRoaches
Edited on Sun Sep-25-05 02:13 AM by norml
I've studied the art of propaganda more than most.

It kills me how much mileage they get out of this sort of infantile twaddle of labeling with denigrating nicknames and ridiculing personal characteristics, while they lampoon our efforts to reason with them on the issues.

Much of propaganda consists of behavioral conditioning and creating a conditioned response.

For example, you can't help having their rude nicknames come to mind when you hear the names of persons they've ridiculed in this very childish way.

The purest propaganda formula goes "We are all things positive. They are all things negative"

I've only recently decided to put into action some of the things I've been studying for years.

This also fits in with the talk radio show I've been doing and my efforts to create a more effective show.

I know what I'm doing.

The Ugly SlimeRoach Fweeper Flavor Aid Drinkers are objects of ridicule and should be treated as such, until they leave the Evil Movement That Calls Itself Conservative, and Rejoin the Reality Based Community.

1. I'm all for mocking the opposition.
You're on the right path, bravo.

A major failure of the Democratic Party in general has been its slavish insistence on politeness, on imputing decent motives to the opposition, and on thinking itself too good to fight "at their level."

We see where surrender monkey thinking gets us.

2. You won't find any such slavish insistence on politeness on my show.
Thanks!

3. Taking the "high road" takes you straight off a cliff.
Glad you feel this way. I hear some of the more pure-hearted voice concern about debate that deteriorates into name-calling, and how, if you resort to name-calling, that's a signal that you're losing the argument.

BULLSHIT!!!!!

If you've got a sufficiently clever name-calling arsenal, all you will accomplish is to have your name-calling stick in some listener's mind. The idea, and it's certainly helped along by repetition, is to plant the seed. If you do it well, and relentlessly, it will take root, and grow. You hear something often enough, it just sticks in your mind, whether you want it to or not. Just consider what happens with a commercial jingle, or a clever ad campaign or slogan. It STICKS IN THE MIND. At that point, it starts doing the heavy lifting for you. Your work, at that point, is DONE!

Look, we didn't make it this way. It is NOT our fault that there's name-calling and mud-slinging and character-assassination going on. The bad guys have done this, and started this, and brought us to this point. THEY are the ones who determined that this is the game and this is how it's supposed to be played. We didn't start this. They did. But we can finish it. However, you don't finish it by rolling over and letting them wipe their muddy shoes all over you. Nor do you take a knife to a gunfight, or go into a duel armed with a feather-duster. I say it's "fair game" time. If they can dish it out, they better be able, and ready, to TAKE it. Preferably UP THE ASS.

The only qualifier here - as long as you're name-calling, just make sure your name-calling is clever as hell. The more clever (and funny, too) it is, the better it'll stick in the mind. They can't help it, they'll remember it whether they deliberately make an effort to do so or not.

Remember, bush himself has made a cottage industry out of the nicknaming business. What are you ALWAYS gonna think of when you see a photo of Michael Brown, the former FEMA director? "Brownie," that's what. Along with that memorable and outstandingly ridiculous "heckuva job" quote. WE can play that game, too. And we ABSOLUTELY SHOULD.

I've seen a bunch of 'em around here, and thought up some, too:

GOP = Grab Our Paychecks
Grab Our Pensions
Greedy Old Party
Get Old People
Gut Our Pay(rolls)
Gluttons On Parade

GOP = MYOB

GOP = The Bodysnatcher Party
The Busy-body Party
The Butt-inski Party
The Party of Pirates
The Party of (War) Profiteers
The Warmonger Party
The I-Me-MINE Party
The Who-Needs-You Party
The Who-Cares-What-You-Think Party
The Screw-the-Poor Party
The Party of Pork
The Penny-Pincher Party
The Cheapskate Party
The Paranoia Party
The Party of Fear
The Party of PAIN!!!
The Party of Cain
The GIMME Party
The IGMFU Party (pronounced IGGUM-foo - an anagram for "I Got Mine... F-U")

And now, because poor little naked emperor is doing badly in the polls, and the National Enquirer, online at least, has brought up the drinking again, it could be
The Pity Party

republi-CONS - because all they offer is a CON job. Which means you also have republi-CONMEN, republi-CONWOMEN, republi-CON ARTISTS, and republi-CON JOBS.

It's absolutely fair game to refer to people like limbaugh as Mr. Anal Cyst. Then you get to elaborate on the reason for that.

The same for that-guy-whose-name-rhymes-with-VANITY.

"Focus on the 'Family'" should ALWAYS be referred to as "Focus on the PHARISEES."

And the likes of those holier-than-thous like messers robertson and falwell, it should also be mullah robertson and ayatolla falwell.

ME-publicans

And so it goes.

Yes, it can be considered childish. Yes, some will poo-poo this as being the wrong way to go.

BULLSHIT!!! As long as THIS is the way the game is played, and as long as THEY do it to us, we have NO OTHER WAY TO RESPOND - than IN KIND. Fight fire with fire. Give them a taste of their own medicine. Watch 'em whine and yowl and squeal like the pigs they are.

Gloves are off. These are the rules. The research and all the studies CONSISTENTLY show that while people may SAY they hate dirty campaigning and mudslinging, IT STILL WORKS. IT WORKS. REPEAT - IT WORKS. So whatcha gonna do - plan to LOSE?

And if anybody ever gives you grief about it, about how we need to be better than that and it lowers us down to their level and makes us no better than they are and makes you just like them... SCREW IT!!! What I always do in that case is point out that - "why YES! I DO want to be just like them. Because - you know what they are? They're WINNERS. This is the approach they use ROUTINELY and guess what? They WIN. So yes. I want to be just like them. I want to WIN.

Besides, nobody should be questioning you or your motivation for this. They should be reserving those activities for bush and his henchmen and enablers.
