Roberts' palpable rage at Bush is helped even further by the fact that he was Assistant Treasury Secretary under Reagan, and thus has drawn many disaffected Republicans into his fold. Sometimes, seems that our most effective friends are angry (former) Republicans who put competence over ideology-- Roberts, Richard Clarke, Norman Schwarzkopf, Lawrence Wilkerson, Brent Scowcroft. They lay into Bush on Iraq with no reservations, since they actually still believe that having halfway capable leaders is important in this nation.
