Tucker Carlson: "Nepotism...that's a REAL reason to leak her name"
Just now, on The Abrams Report (MSNBC).

Here's bowtie boy's logic:

1). Joseph Wilson was unqualified to go on the mission to Niger.

2). His wife recommended him.

3). Nepotism, a "real reason to leak her name."

Jon Stewart's right...no matter where he appears, he's a dick.

3. Now, why does this nitwit have a show when he's so uninformed.
Tweety used to spew this nonsense, but he's wised up some these days. Hasn't Tucker taken the time to read Wilson's government background? Sheesh, he was exactly the kind of guy to so on a fact-finder like this.

10. Nothing offends Bush more than cronyism, making out on family ties!
And the fact that Wilson was merely a former ambassador to Iraq and Africa made Cheney's blood boil! Not a THING on his resume about horse shows, oil industry, or lobbying1

That has to be the biggest bunch of swill I've heard in a long time. Honestly. It's beneath even Tucker.

Nepotism is maybe a reason to fire or transfer somebody. I didn't realize it was a justification for committing treason and putting American lives in danger.

Makes me want to reach right out and snap his bowtie.

in his assessment. Yeah, I guess in Chimp world he's unqualified because he's actually competent and the right person to get the job done properly.

pretends to be balanced. Wasn't his public TV show cancelled or did I just dream it? He and Dennis Miller are complete wimpy wantabees! Come to think of it, I haven't seen much of ol Miller lately. Where did he go?

19. First you lie about it, then you call the lie nepotism.
Amazing how this spin stuff works.

So let me get the steps straight.

1. Tell a lie that Valerie Wilson recommended her husband for Niger investigation.

2. Then, complain that since Valerie Wilson recommended her husband that there is nepotism.

Amazing how it wraps back on itself like that.

22. Except Wilson was qualified. Look at his bio. Plus the Niger claims
were bogus and the Administration knew it from a variety of substantiated sources. So there was no good legitmate reason to engage in a smear campaign against Wilson.

And I'm sure Tucker never got any benefit as a result of his family, right? Another guy who was born on third base and thinks he hit a triple.

24. gee tucker, is that the best you've got
cause you got nothin'

A. Wilson was very qualified to go to Niger.
B. His wife didn't "recommend" him. She passed along his name. And even if that can be considered a "recommendation" she didn't make the decision to send him. It can hardly be nepotism when someone unrelated to you decides to hire you, particularly where there is absolutely zero evidence that the decision to send Wilson had anything to do with who his wife was.

C. Nepotism might be grounds for leaking in some situations. But this wasn't nepotism and leaking the name of an undercover operative can't be justified on mere nepotism grounds anyway.

onenote

BUT STATEMENTS 1 AND 2 ARE LIES. So the real conclusion of Tucker's little syllogism is that Tucker is an asshole.

28. The nepotism charge is laughable
Did Valerie Plame make the final decision to send Wilson? No.

Is someone who's been a career foreign service officer and diplomat for over 20 years likely to be qualified for an intelligence mission? Absolutely.

My god, how could an undercover agent suggesting their spouse be sent on one mission compare to real, serious cases of governmental nepotism?!

It's such an utterly desperate, stupid attack.

I wonder how people like Tucker Carlson live with themselves? How can you wake up every day, strap on your bowtie and know you are going to off to work to shove your head clean up George Bush's ass for the day? Completely disregarding any kind of integrity, common sense, intelligence or honor?

Ewww.

Bush, son of a former president

Powell's son ... head of the FCC

Lynn Cheney ... some Repub job

Cheney's daughter is now in the administration

Tucker himself ... PBS show ... PBS, where his father was the former head guy

The push for Jeb .....

Bush the smarter ... son of a former Connecticut Senator, one Prescott Bush
