Gore or Kerry need to challenge Cheney to a debate...
and debunk his lies. The pure bilge that keeps coming out of this man's mouth needs to be force fed back to him.

Gore would be good with the direct attack on the lies, Kerry would be good with the reasonable demeanor counterattack.

This level of deception from the highest offices of the land is just not good for our democracy and Gore should say that directly to that malicious fountain of lies (aka Cheney) in front of the whole world.

Gore did a great job in front of moveon.org audiences laying out this case, but it needs to see the light of the day...

1. What would be Cheney's motivation to do this?
Cheney is smarter then that. He has no reason to debate when he can have the stage all to himself virtually any time that he wants it.

3. It's hard to picture why would Cheney agree he has the bigger platform

But I'ld go with Kerry - not because of content (which would be good for both) but for style. Also, Kerry was personally lied to on an issue he takes incredibly seriously. Kerry trusted that they were honorable - but they weren't.

I suspect that if Gore came out angry, Cheney in his patronizing, smooth voice would seem to have more authority and Gore would appear to be too angry. No one in his career, when he was an anti-war spokesperson or at Yale has out debated Kerry. But, we need the angry Kerry, which luckily is the Kerry we've seen a lot of at least since he returned from Iraq in August. Kerry is one of the few people who gets more focused and more articulate when he is angry. He also has a very distinghuisted and well mannered presence. He could beat Cheney to the "high" position which (though a lie) Cheney seems to try to claim.

Even better can we get Kerry to debate Bush again. I'm sure Bush would love the opportunity to make it 1 out of 4.

5. I agree, I prefer Kerry
for stylistic/debating-ability reaons. Gore is by far superior to anyone else on marshalling arguments. Listen to his speeches these past few years -- they are nothing short of breathtaking in their comprehensiveness...

Unfortunately, he does have an insufferable attitude during debates, but Kerry is fantastic in debates (demeanor-wise), though his arguments tend to be tangential and subtle...

7. If speeches are a guide though
when angry - his points get sharper and his sentences shorter.

8. I am just reading Kerry's response to...
the GOP smear of Murtha and it is spectacularly pointed! His language skills are definitely superior to those of Gore, more poetic and more poignant...

9. Fun as hell when he's pissed off, isn't he
I love it when the "Incredible Hulk" make an appearance. Cheney wouldn't like him when he's angry. ;)
