All DU'ers can vote, not just CT residents.

Who would you support in the 2006 Senate race.

Who is Lowell Weicker?

5. Not necessarily
As an Independent, Weicker would likely cast his vote for Senate leadership on ideological grounds. Two other New England legislators, both Independents (Sen. Jeffords and Rep. Saunders), caucus with the Democrats. Indeed, Weicker is best known as a liberal maverick who is no favorite of Republicans. The right wing has been screaming for his scalp ever since the Senate Watergate hearings. Lieberman is a de-facto Republican who is notorious for parroting GOP talking points. As such, he can and should be replaced.

4. I don't think I could ever vote for Weicker
After his "promise" to not impose a State sales tax followed by an about face pretty much the day after he was elected. I don't think I'd trust him as a crossing guard.

10. I worked on Weicker's campaign against Lieberman
I hated Joe then (his tagline was: Lowell Weicker: Too Liberal for Connecticut, probably the first person to use that...some democrat) and still do.

15. If it takes electing a moderate repuke to send a message to ENABLING
DEMS that we are TIRED of being hung out to dry, then I'd vote for Weicker.

Maybe it would serve as a wake-up call.

16. CT Republicans won't touch Weicker with a ten foot pole
they're still pissed at him for winning as an Independent in 1990 and for bringing a state income tax into existence.
