"Economic Growth Is Galloping" ????
What gives? Everyone I know (including myself) has had a terrible year trying to balance finances and bills. I've had to take out a few loans to cover my rent, gassing up the car, etc...

"U.S.: Why Economic Growth Is Galloping"

http://msnbc.msn.com/id/10381839/

The economy is proving as unstoppable as the 11-0 Indianapolis Colts. Consumers have kept spending even in the wake of sharply higher energy prices and after their confidence was pummeled by this summer's hurricanes. And despite initial worries over demand generated by the storms and oil hikes, businesses continue to invest in new equipment and add to their payrolls.

1. Galloping all right...off into the sunset
America danced all night and drank champagne right before the crash of 29, too....

8. the Four Horsemen are galloping.
For the uber-rich, the economy is swell. For the rest of us, it's in the toilet. Same as in the robber-baron days just before the crash.

2. Growth versus prosperity
It took me forever to figure this one out.

The economy has grown under Bush to varying degrees. But it hasn't translated into prosperity except for a few very rich people. Instead of creating jobs that make all of us better off, corporations have been keeping the money and giving their CEO's huge bonuses. That's why they refer to "jobless recoveries."

4. I have read this story and much like it every damn year since the ape
has been in office. None of them were true and i'm willing to bet money this one isn't true either. Shit they probably have the damn thing set up in their forms.

Bottom line - *'s class are doing well the rest of us are getting screwed.

You can file THAT right alongside:

There are WMDs in Iraq ...
Hussein was behind the 9/11 attacks ...
There are no 'secret prisons' ...
We do not torture ...

As per their usual MO of late, this Administration has over-stepped itself once again. You can lie to the American people about all kinds of things, and sometimes you can even get away with it.

But you CANNOT lie to Americans about their own lives. People know their disposable income is disappearing. They know their jobs are liable to be downsized or outsourced any day. They know they might have to choose between gas in the car and oil in the furnace this winter.

On this topic, the Admin is KNOWN to be lying the second they open their mouths.

6. I made half as much this year
But then again I'm in sales, and well, that happens. But the numbers seem to be there. Although like many I don't personally see it.

7. Economic Growth is Galloping.......
AWAY!!!!!!!! Corporations and the wealthy are the benefactors of bush economics. The rest of us are paying the price for allowing this to happen. The American Dream is becoming far less attainable to whole lot of very hard working people. The hard working class needs to change the course of this economic coup d'rich. It will be done in time.

9. the corp heads are making historic profits, companies are hiring
but they are all temps, it's easy to pay someone 9 -10 bucks/hr when your not paying retirement and health benefits. and of course even if you're a temp you have to live, so they go and spend like they have a permanent job. I know because my company is bring in a lot of folks but they are all temps.

11. ...galloping, right over a cliff...
A few people are making most of the money, while the rest of the economy is in the toilet. I have a feeling that next summer's tourist season income is going to be slim, by the evidence from my work.
