James Dobson's hit list of pro-gay companies
http://www.family.org/cforum/extras/a0038754.cfm

Wow. That's a long list. It must be really hard for the committed right-wing paranoid delusionalist to keep up with all the companies he/she is supposed to boycott.

1. I think I'll use this list
In the opposite way of course. Thanks James Dobson, for making my life a little easier!

2. Mutual of Omaha? Marlin Perkins? Wow, now they're attacking
the icons of my youth.

Actually, this is the most useful thing Focus on the Phallus has done for me in my lifetime - provided me with a shopping list!

4. I wonder if he keeps a list of the
"god hates fags" type companies? That would be helpful for me as I chose where not to spend my gay dollars.

"Research" from folks like this sure shines a spotlight on bigotry. The companies on his list are doing nothing but trying to create a culture of inclusion at their company. It's sad that people (the fundies) get so hung up on something that doesn't impact them one bit.

5. The boycott against Disney World
which lasted for years was, like dobson, a total failure. Disney World reported revenues up when dobson and his group of fellow "christians" who hate in the name of Jesus Christ were boycotting. Such a long list requires a great deal of hate.

12. I can't, I just CANNOT
reconcile the use of the word "research" with anything done by this motherfucker.

However, it really IS a great guide for where to shop.

I think, today, I will go and buy lots of Levis, just for the hell (can I say "hell" here?) of it.

16. The Christian Right misses the mark yet again
Last night I depressed myself by reading in HuffPo the article (and comments) headlined 'Christian Conservatives “Support Cutting Food Stamps For Poor People If Republicans Support Them On Judicial Nominees”...'. 95% of the comments seemed to point out ways in which the agenda of the "Christian" Right is the antithesis of what Christ preached. I re-read the Book of Matthew before going to sleep, just to remind myself.

After a good night's sleep, I can now laugh in amazement and disbelief at how far off-course James Dobson and his ilk are. I followed the link to Dobson's web site, read about the gay-friendly businesses he is targeting, and then, quite accidentally, noticed the column on the left of the page (shoulda been on the right, methinks), in which he lists topics in his "Focus on Social Issues". Guess what! "The Poor" did not make the list. Instead, these are the social issues which the "Christian Right" deems important:
ABSTINENCE POLICY
- Biblical View
- Education
- Abstinence Update
- Parents
- Public Policy Issues
BIOETHICS/SANCTITY OF LIFE
- Abortion
- Cloning/Stem Cell Research
- End of Life Issues
- Euthanasia/Physician
ASSISTED SUICIDE
- Genetics
CONSTITUTION & GOVERNMENT
- Constitutional Freedoms
- Constitutional Theory
THE CONGRESS
- The House of Representatives
- The Senate
THE COURTS
- Circuit Courts
- State Courts
- Supreme Court
- The Media
THE PRESIDENCY
- Executive Agencies
- The White House
EDUCATION
- Gay Activism in Schools
- Home Schooling
- Legislation
- Public Education
- Religious Expression
- School Choice
GAMBLING
- A Biblical Perspective
- Casinos
- Consequences of Gambling
- Gambling in the U.S.
- The Lottery
HOMOSEXUALITY & GENDER
MARRIAGE & FAMILY
- Cohabitation
- Divorce
- Fatherhood
- Marriage
- Marriage Recovery Initiatives
- Same-Sex Unions & Parenting
ORIGINS
PERSECUTION
POLITICAL ISLAM
PORNOGRAPHY
- Business & Culture
- Citizen Action/Anti-Porn Efforts
- Legislative, Judicial & Enforcement Issues
- Pornography & Children
- The Harm of Pornography
WORLDVIEW & CULTURE

Although they rail that charity should not be a function of government, they do nothing to shoulder the responsibility of charity and caring for the poor, the homeless, the sick, the widows. By their works ye shall know them.

"To better assist you in understanding the information in Chart 2, please refer to Chart 2 key and Chart 2 notes."

And many of those companies donate to Republicans. Focus has gone way around the bend.
