Was Bush ever Baptized? by immersion?
I can't find any info on this? Isn't this what it takes to be a "real" christian?

10. I've always suspected fetal alcohol syndrome.
I mean, Barbara has obviously knocked back many a martoonie in her day, judging from the looks of her, and it really would explain a lot.

11. I hear he screamed, "It burns, it burns!", when sprinkled.
So, they opted for a soothing hot oil massage, instead.

5. Apparently his conversion consisted of going to a
rich mens' bible study group in Midland, where they all latched onto the words of Paul that said faith alone was sufficient for salvation and embraced a loopy Calvinsim that said rich men were automatically favored by god for the reason that they had been born rich and that the poor were cursed by god because they had been born poor and that there was nothing left for them to do but accept things as they are and accept Jebus into their hearts and give him praise and their ticket to heaven was punched and ready to use without having to do all those messy and annoying good works on earth.

I don't think baptism by a preacher was part of this. I also don't think it worked really well at stopping his drinking.

There was a great Frontline show on Stupid's religious convictions. It may be archived at the PBS site. If it is repeated again, it's a must see, even though you have to suffer through hearing a lot of the wit and wisdom out of Stupid's own mouth to get to the real meat of the program.

14. This has to be the program you're referring to.
Or would they have had more than one to cover it all?

The Jesus Factor

"The day he was inaugurated there were several of us who met with him at the governor's mansion," says Land, president of the Southern Baptist Convention's Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission. "And among the things he said to us was, 'I believe that God wants me to be president.'"

How George W. Bush became a born-again Christian -- and the impact that decision has had on his political career -- is the focus of FRONTLINE's report, "The Jesus Factor." Through interviews with Bush family friends, advisers, political analysts, and observers -- as well as excerpts from the president's speeches, interviews, and debates -- this one-hour documentary chronicles George W. Bush's personal religious journey while also examining the growing political influence of the nation's more than 70 million evangelical Christians.

"President Bush has been called the most openly religious president in modern history," says producer Raney Aronson. "The documentary explores what that means for George Bush, both as a person and as president of the United States."

"The Jesus Factor" recounts how George Bush -- struggling with business failures and a drinking problem -- made a life-altering decision in the 1980s after spending a weekend with longtime family friend Billy Graham: "It was the beginning of a new walk where I would recommit my heart to Jesus Christ," Bush later wrote. The change that decision produced in his life, friends say, was both remarkable and genuine...."

8. If Bush is speaking truth when he states he's accepted Christ as Saviour
he is a "real" Christian by the evangelical fundamentalist definition. A real Christian will want to follow the Lord in baptism but it's not necessary to be born again. Thus the phrase "death bed conversion", wherein someone repents in his/her final moments of life without time to be baptized and his/her soul will still go to be with the Lord after death.

I'm not preaching here. Just answering your question from the standpoint of a life-long Baptist. As to whether Bush has been baptized, like you, I haven't heard. As to whether his conversion is valid, only God can judge that. As to whether he acts like a Christian--well, I can judge that to me anyhow, much of the time it doesn't seem to me that he does, but that's just based on what I've observed. Would be nice to have him quote the words of Jesus now and then, but maybe he's just not a Bible scholar. Seems like he can read, but still...

Sorry. This is all just from my point of view. Hope this helps answer your question.

...by sprinkle or immersion.

But the it is hard for me to believe that any true Christian would, under false pretenses send 2200 American kids to slaughter; kill 30000 Iraq civilian; steal power from his own Congress....and be such an evil person!
