5. Frist was DOA...

.. as far as any presidential aspirations were concerned. This is one I don't really understand, because I refuse to believe that anyone in the Repug machine could have EVER thought this slug could be president.

I think the independents and swing voters would consider Frist to be too far right. He does a good bit of pandering to the fundies and these type of voters usually disdain fundamentalism.
