This is too fucken' depressing....Scalito on the SC is devastating.

And, did you hear Isikoff on Franken's show? The fucken' PENTAGON set up extensive secret operations to spy on people IN THE US! including various websites, where they have software to mask users identities, to make it look like users are from outside the US...etc.? WTF is that for? is it to avoid the laws of the land? is it to trap people/protesters? is it to entice Americans to say and/or do the wrong thing so that Rummy can look like a hero?

I am sick of it all, I can't do politics anymore...

1. Nimrod!
What you're describing is NOT POLITICS!

It's CRIMINAL BEHAVIOR...

We need people to stay and fight and hold these thugs accountable.

5. Cat's bagless already, since you've already posted...
...here much.

I still think we must all hang together, or we'll hang separately.

Consider at least lurking and keeping up with the fight for what's right.

7. They want you to quit Nimrod. Don't let them beat you my friend.
Edited on Tue Jan-24-06 02:03 PM by shance
I know how overwhelming all this stuff is. I have sat where you sit today.

Please take a little break, take a walk, get away from the computer and do what you need to, but don't give up. Never give up.

Thats exactly what they want and need for us to do.

In the meantime, take care, and know you are NOT alone.

You are among friends.

8. Sorry to hear that, Nimrod. Come over to the DU Lounge. We all
get frustrated occasionally. Please try not to lose hope for this country.

I watched a show on John and Abigail Adams last night on the PBS program "American Experience." Gives me hope that the right people will get into the government beginning this year and keep us afloat.

Perhaps I'm just a cockeyed optimist, but this country has survived so much. We can only work for changes in the future.

In peace,

Radio_Lady

16. How things change, things we used to be proud of:
Just five years ago:

1) We were talking about a $10 trillion surplus, now we're talking about $10 trillion deficit
2) The world admired our leader and wanted to be us, now they hate who we are and resent our leader
3) We felt safe and secure, now we are waiting for the next attack
4) We had 3.9% unemployment and more people were being educated, now college is not affordable
5) We had stronger currency, now we pray Communist China does not decide to dumb our debt
6) We preached freedom for the world, now we take away freedom from Americans!
7) We widely enjoyed freedom FROM religion, now we are debating Intelligent Design in schools
8) We had so-called free press, now we (like DU'ers) have to work SO hard to force coverage of basic truths

I can go on, but I really can't......

11. Nimrod, I tried to PM you, but you don't have that feature activated.
You might like to read this from the "Greatest" post of a DU subscriber who got off the Republican television merry-go-round.

You might include both liberal and conservative wingers on radio. Both can drive you crazy, take it from me.

Start doing other things to balance your life.

12. We can't just let them roll over us.
We still have laws to prohibit this behavior. Now that we know the laws are being broken, we need every voice to shout loud and long to bring the perps to justice...even yours.
It gets damn discouraging but we have to try. I've read a lot of books about the concentration camps in Germany/Poland in WWII. What I learned is that the few who walked away from the trains when they saw the opportunity lived to tell about it. They were the ones who didn't just go along to get along.
We have to try until there is no hope left then we have to try harder because we have a lot to protect in this country. Don't quit, do like the rest of us do, keep putting one foot in front of another..it's the only way we can get these monsters where they belong.

why would you give these neocon scumbags the satisfaction. Defend your 'Rights' and the 'Constitution' by being a real patriot and fighting for what is right, until your death.

was at its worst, through the 1970s and then through the whole Reagan administration in the 1980s.

People were aflame at that time, too.

My father used to say, "This, too, shall pass..."

Enjoy the day. It's the only one we have.

24. Take a break Nimrod, you deserve it.
There comes a time when the corruption is just too much to bear; when the crumbling of our Democracy seems inevitable. When that happens, you have to take a breather. Join your family, talk to friends, read or take up a hobby. You just have to get away so you don't burn out.

Then in a couple of weeks, or months, when you feel strong again, come back to work with us.
