Take Back Your Privacy
Dear Friend,

Wes Clark has launched a new online advocacy campaign to protect the privacy of our personal telephone records. And he needs our help.

General Clark's cellular phone records were recently purchased by a prominent blogger for less than a hundred dollars, demonstrating how easy it is for anyone to obtain this kind of sensitive personal information.

As Americans, we expect the privacy of our personal information to be protected. That's why Wes Clark recently joined with Senators Chuck Schumer and Bill Nelson in supporting new legislation to fix this problem.

Please join Wes Clark and me as we urge our Senators to support S. 2178, "The Consumer Telephone Records Protection Act of 2006."

You can forward an email to your Senators at the following link:

1. Thanks, mousie! Very important issue...
You can use mousie's link to contact your Seantors, or the use one at WesPAC:

Statement on Privacy Invasion and Identity Theft
By General Wesley K. Clark

When my phone records were purchased for less than a hundred dollars I joined millions of Americans who worry about the invasion of their privacy. People should be able to trust that their privacy is being respected and protected by everyone from the government to our internet and mobile phone service providers. Clearly this is not always the case.

Legal remedies are required to stop this. Some companies are using the courts to outlaw this practice. Verizon and Cingular have effected restraining orders and T-Mobile is suing these online poachers. Clearly this is an example of the postive good government can do. I urge people to contact their Senators and urge the passage of The Schumer/Specter Bill to restore integrity to the system and give people back a reasonable degree of privacy.

So, I urge you to contact your Senators and urge them to pass the Schumer/Specter Bill, S. 2178, to restore to people the peace of mind that comes with privacy.

Take Action on this Issue!

Take back your privacy!

Contact your Senators through WesPAC:

This is important, so use one or both of these links and let your Senators know that what happened to Wes Clark should never happen to any American Citizen!

2. Support this bill!
Use the link to write your senators. It only takes a minute (unless you decide to rewrite the form letter provided, but there's a blank space to do so it that's your schtick).

If you want to know more, the full article, with a link to the press release is at the top of the WesPAC homepage at http://www.securingamerica.com. Hightly recommended.

As is this thread. Thanks, mousie! :hi:
