I need examples of people wearing badges, symbols, etc in the Capital.
Or even-(gasp) T-shirts!!

Anyone have photos of non-arrested people employing various symbols, messages etc in the halls of congress?

4. You will have a more pertinent point if they are in the gallery.
I believe that was the rule people were quoting, "you aren't allowed to protest in the gallery. Senators and members of Congress can wear whatever they please. This rule was only for the common folk in the gallery.

5. Ms. Young was not protesting anything- she was AGREEING.

Do you mean "protesting" or "showing an opinion"?

I wonder if guests ever wore pink, yellow or red ribbons? I'll bet they let guests wear the Flag lapels too.

And I realize they probably have different rules for Congressmen- but that does not really change a broad free-speech analysis of this...

6. I just thought you were going for similar examples. Actualy the best I
found was "sloganeering or demonstrating". I guess that covers quite a bit.

7. Exactly right. And there's a long but mostly minor news history
of people being ejected from the gallery (and this applies to both the House AND the Senate) for protesting, either by yelling or by display. They are always ejected; I do not know what the stats are on arrests.

Whenever it happened, if it was a slow news day, or if it was over a bill of some significance, it would get a news "mention" but not much more.

9. I want to focus on people with "displays" who are NOT removed...

I'm wondering about yellow ribbons, breast cancer ribbons,AIDS ribbons, various religous or political lapels or stickpins. These are indeed "displays."

My guess is that no one has been ejected for these things- any one know?
