US, Iran work together to ban gay groups from U.N.
In a surprising reversal, the United States voted with Iran and other anti-gay countries at the United Nations to deny observer status to two gay rights groups at the world body.

The UN Committee on Non-Governmental Organizations of the United Nations Economic and Social Council voted January 23, 10-5 with three abstentions to deny the International Lesbian and Gay Association of Brussels and the Danish National Association for Gays and Lesbians of Denmark consultive status at the UN.

Such status, which is enjoyed by over 3,000 NGOs around the world, allows access to UN proceedings, presence at conferences, and the right to propose agenda items.

Can't wait to hear about why we have to invade Iran because of their "extreme views".

2. I absolutely loathe these people...
The United States is now an official anti-gay country? What happened to "All men are created equal..."? I've said it a thousand times before...a gay person cannot "convert" a heterosexual person to homosexuality. It's impossible. The only question that is relevant is whether the person is a human being or not, and since gays are human, they are entitled to the same rights as other humans.

If the gay-haters get their way, they are allowed to force their views on others. If gays get their way, nobody is prevented from, or forced to do, anything. What is so threatening, or wrong, with acknowledging other people's rights? It doesn't take anything away from me, or anybody else to do so, but it does prevent hundreds of thousands from enjoying their personal rights.

These people are shameful, they are nothing but hatemongers, and narrow-minded bigots. I see them as being so insecure with their own sexual identities, that they try to push anything that would make them question their own beliefs back into the closet. If gays don't have equal rights, then they should be absolved from paying taxes...after all, they are not given the sam rights as other citizens, why should they shoulder the same burdens?
