Barney Frank Blasts Condi's UN Gay Position
I'm repeatedly impressed with Barney Frank. :)

(Washington) Saying he had expected more from her Congressman Barney Frank criticized Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice for her role in the rejection of two international LGBT civil rights groups by a United Nations body.

Last month the United Nations Economic and Social Council, a think tank made up of non governmental agencies from around the world, voted not to admit the International Lesbian and Gay Association and the Danish Association of Gays and Lesbians.

Their application to join other nongovernmental agencies on the council was rejected without a hearing after the United States voted with some of the world's most repressive regimes, including Iran, Zimbabwe, China, Cameroon and Columbia to turn down the request.

"I was deeply troubled to learn that the U.S. Government, presumably at your direction, sided with some of the most undemocratic, anti-human rights regimes in the world in voting against consultative status for two international organizations, solely on the grounds that they represent gay and lesbian people," Frank said in a letter to Rice.

3. Condi doesn't do birth control or family planning
No need for her to even think of having any depth in those subjects. One cold woman.

4. I see it a little differently
We're giving them what they *don't* deserve.

Mothers don't deserve to die in childbirth. But because of ignorant, hateful, backward, racist, right-wing "Christian" U.S. policies, more of them do.

Babies don't deserve to die in want and ignominy and misery. But because of ignorant, hateful, backward, racist right-wing "Christian" U.S. policies, they do.

Homosexuals don't deserve to be killed for how they choose to have sex. But because of ignorant, hateful, backward, racist right-wing "Christian" policies, they are.

Why are we surprised? That sort of action is just about all the Republicans are good at.

:grr:

2. Condi doesn't mix with anyone but the elitists.
Hence her name as Aunt Thomasina. She shopped for $1,000 shoes during Katrina. She's on for the Super Bowl.

5. hey! we can't have this "culture of crap" in the white house
allowing representation for "gay and lesbian people" (even though i always thought lesbians were gay people too)

if condi "allowed" gays to be represented the homophobe bushbackers would be up in arms for her seeming to recognize and legitimize gay people. i can hear their rally cry now: "What's next condi? Gay Marriage?!?!?!?!)
