There is only one legitimate outcome from the NSA Hearings...
The Constitution does not allow for warrant-less spying. Period. The Constitution would need a clause that says '...except by the President during War' for this to be permissible. And there is no such clause.

The big problem is that if this violation is not checked, then any right specified in the Bill of Rights would be subject to violation. And, therefore, our Constitution would become a 'worthless piece of paper'.

If this violation is not checked, that would be it my friends. Our country would die right before our eyes. The President could literally dictate any mandate - including filling detention camps.

Arlen Spector must deem this warrant-less wiretapping illegal and immediately issue a reason for impeachment to the House. It all boils down to Arlan Spector's final ruling.

If nothing is done, then I am afraid it will be up to us.

1. A few time I heard a Repug say that Prez had
unlimited powers in times of war. But no one rebutted with Bush landing on the Naval carrier and declaring the war over.

2. You know... if 20 countries were engaged in a war...
and hundreds of thousands of people were being killed, I might be more lenient. But that is just it - my opinion is that we have a large criminal engagement against the people who caused 911 - not a freaking war. It is disgusting to think that so many Americans are duped by this Administration.

3. This doesn't just violate Federal Law- it violates the US Constitution.
It's a felony. It's grounds for impeachment. Period.

Peace.

5. I think you misread my post...
In my opinion, 911 was MIHOP operation. Lets say 'we do not know what happen on 911' - then I would think it would/should have been the largest criminal investigation in the world. In fact, the world was behind us.

Some people think it was ok to invade Afghanistan - why? The majority of the hijackers were Saudi. So the whole idea about invading Iraq is freaking disgusting.

My point was - if the world was totally at war with millions of people dying all over the place - maybe somethings can have more tolerance. But this is not the case. Bush is pushing to take over America and unless we stop them - we are screwed.

7. Thanks Snoop! I thought I might be misreading your post.
so thought I had better get clarification. I also believe the evil pricks MIHOP and are ready to do it again fairly soon. With all they are doing to us how anyone can doubt their complicity in 9/11 still is astonishing.

I just don't know what to do anymore Snoop. It seems that the harder we fight the less we accomplish. How do you fight plans that were laid out 20 - 30 years or so ago? I've protested, written letters and emails, called, written many ltte, nothing has seemed to have any effect. I've even contacted other countries embassies here asking for help and nothing (except having my mail read and phone tapped).

Are we to the point of pitchforks and torches now?! I had to sell my bows and arrows to survive and I hate guns.

Any ideas?:hi:

In peace and waning hope,
V

8. Then get a warrent
no one is saying that we don't need the ability to spy on people, it just needs to be done within the existing laws.

Bush & Co have opening admitted that they broke the knowingly broke the law. That is the problem.

9. It is the "United Nations Strategy"
"The big problem is that if this violation is not checked, then any right specified in the Bill of Rights would be subject to violation. And, therefore, our Constitution would become a 'worthless piece of paper'."

This is exactly the approach he took to undermine the authority of the United Nations. Render it impotent by simply ignoring it and allowing a precedent to be set, unchallenged. We need to challenge him this time.
