Gonzales: maybe terrorists forgot we are spying on them
and maybe if we just leave the middle east real quietly, and at night, they won't realize we left. And if we don't allow the newspapers to cover it, maybe the terrorists will forget that they hate us for our freedom.

Here's an example of the total idiocy of this administration, from Monday's hearing:

BIDEN: General, how has this revelation damaged the program? I'm almost confused by it but, I mean, it seems to presuppose that these very sophisticated Al Qaida folks didn't think we were intercepting their phone calls.

I mean, I'm a little confused. How did it damage this?

GONZALES: Well, Senator, I would first refer to the experts in the Intel Committee who are making that statement, first of all. I'm just the lawyer.

And so, when the director of the CIA says this should really damage our intel capabilities, I would defer to that statement.

I think, based on my experience, it is true -- you would assume that the enemy is presuming that we are engaged in some kind of surveillance. But if they're not reminded about it all the time in the newspapers and in stories, they sometimes forget....

BIDEN: Well, I hope you and my distinguished friend from Alabama are right, that they're that stupid and naive because we're much better off if that's the case.

you can't make this shit up!

1. Can't wait till Jon Stewart
gets hold of this. Beyond parody! And you have to imagine Gonzo's high, unmasculine voice spewing this stuff--unfreakingbelievable! SG

2. Man, we are up against some *dumb* terrorists. . .
I think they may be dumber than BushCo, if such a negative intelligence is possible.

3. I always knew these terrorists weren't too bright
I mean look at theirtrack record.
They took over an entire country -- albeit with Pakistan's help.
They stayed away from Iraq until the ruthless dictator was gone and chaos was almost everywhere.
They were able to cordinate an attack by running to airplanes into the world trade center.

Yep. They aren't too bright.

5. And they were able to coordinate that attack...
...to occur on a day when our "preparedness" was undergoing a system wide "hot test", thus making initial response and recognition that it was "real" slower than it might otherwise have been. They were also able to time their hijackings so that the targets were hit just BEFORE business opened, therefore achieving "high-impact" results, but not actually killing as many as they could have had they taken flights just an hour later.

With an Administration such as this one, where the lives of 3000 soldiers in pursuit of an agenda built on lies, where every action is a scandal and every scandal is whitewashed, where exposing covert operatives is considered a reasonable response to valid criticism, is it really that much of a stretch to recognize that they NEEDED 9-11 to advance their agenda. Bush wasn't joking when he said "they" hit the trifecta.

7. Boggles the mind that a similar security preparedness exercise...
...was going on in London the morning of the Underground bombings...at pretty much all the stations bombed.

6. I just watched the nbc coverage of the hearings...
on "first look", and you would have thought that gonzo had deftly handled a bunch of hen-pecking, whining Democrats. I watched the hearings live, so I know how it really went, but the coverage was so edited to put gonzo in the best light that they even failed to mention the lack of swearing in.

8. Well Gonzalez also believes that George Washington
and Abraham Lincoln used electronic surveillance, so obviously this jerk isn't all that bright and/or he's a pathological liar.

9. If the majority of Congress fails to conclude that...
the Bush Regime committed numerous crimes regarding spying sans warrents then the USA will indeed be a Neo Fascist Police State.

11. We're not there yet
and their attempts to turn us into a police state have not gone that well so far. What we are seeing is their last desperate attempt to hold on to power before the fall. Thank god for the internets, because 50 years ago they would have gotten away with shit. As a matter of fact, they have been getting away with it for the last 50 years. Now too many people are seeing them for who and what they really are.

10. Corporate Media Ignorance At Its Finest
Be assured, had a Democrat said the goofy shit that came out of Gonzo's pie hole yesterday, the hate shows last night would have been all abuzz on how stupid, ignorant and just out of touch this regime has become.

That statement just proves how stupid this regime thinks a majority of Americans are...and how the corporate media agrees. The difference on why the corporate media sits on its hands is it's both compromised and conflicted by this regime and has to play stenographer and echo chamber.

The saving grace is people are starting to get sick and tired of being scared or told to be scared. This is the strongest nation in the world and we're acting like a bunch of "sissies". Any time an alleged Al Queda tape comes out and the media goes into near panic. It plays right into the Rovian game...but then the corporate media knows it...playing that game is still the only one inside the beltway and only Democrats get scrutiny. Idiotic Repugnicans are considered "mavericks".

Lastly...I swear Jeff Sessions is what happens when human and mules breed. Not a pretty sight.

Cheers...
