5. Why is Obama supposed to be well regarded re: reform?
Just because he is a democrat? most of what I have seen has been his refusal to take stances on highly confrontational issues.

Yes, he says he wants to be a fence mender. But it takes two to tangle. and 100 to really tangle. No dancing permitted.

7. Good question
I've never seen him front and center on this issue. But McCain sure isn't my idea of a reformer, given the way he's supported Bush no matter what. So in a head to head, I'd have to go with the Dem. Thems the choices in this poll!

8. Well..guess what..
He's front and center now and he is not going to be kept on the reservation any longer. Are you going to support him or continue to bore us with your excuses and petty attacks.

Obama

15. Done, and it's another weird poll....
Trusting McCain more and Trusting Democrats more questions are very lopsided, especially in the results.

I think Obama was blindsided by this whole "letter exchange" going public?

33. You must have answered a different poll
The question in the poll the original poster linked to is "Who do you trust more to reform rules on lobbying ethics?" The choices are Obama or McCain.

Obama is getting killed still. Note this is a POS poll. It doesn't let you know that most people probably respect both individuals, but based on results the right will spin this to mean we don't support our own man.

39. Both parties are sell outs!
Sad truth is primarily both parties are sell outs.

When big corporations and lobbyist monies flow to each parties, who can you trust?

McCain was a member of a now disband group called the Committee for the Liberation of Iraq:

The following information was published during the existence of the Committee:

The Committee for the Liberation of Iraq (CLI) billed itself as a nongovernmental organization comprised of a "distinguished group of Americans" who want to free Iraq from Saddam Hussein. In a news release announcing its formation, the groups said it wants to "promote regional peace, political freedom and international security through replacement of the Saddam Hussein regime with a democratic government that respects the rights of the Iraqi people and ceases to threaten the community of nations." It has close links to the Project for the New American Century (PNAC) and the American Enterprise Institute (AEI), important shapers of the Bush administration's foreign policy.
Many CLI, PNAC and AEI members were previously involved with the Committee for Peace and Security in the Gulf (CPSG), a hard-right group created in 1990 prior to Operation Desert Storm.
The Washington Post reported in November 2002 that "the organization is modeled on a successful lobbying campaign to expand the NATO alliance. Members include former secretary of state George P. Shultz, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and former senator Bob Kerrey (D-Neb.). ... While the Iraq committee is an independent entity, committee officers said they expect to work closely with the administration. They already have met with Hadley and Bush political adviser Karl Rove. Committee officers and a White House spokesman said Rice, Hadley and Cheney will soon meet with the group." <1> (http://www.washingtonpost.com/ac2/wp-dyn/A64233-2002Nov3?language=printer)

Above information was found at:

So who the heck can you trust??
