Why did bush even attend the funeral of CSK?
His base, composed of ignorant racists and religious zealots would not want him to have attended. Then, he and his daddy get up on the podium and LIE, pretending they loved and respected Mrs King. And they had to sit through the adulation of real patriots and statesmen and Orators (Clinton and Carter) and be subjected to the lavish praise heaped upon those two Political Giants of American History. bush was sitting in the church asking himself the question I propose. He wanted to be back at the white house plotting more lies and coverup with karl. Ignorance and arrogance - republican values.

at heart....By going to this event, which I'm sure he detested, he is "proving" that he's not racist while he cuts Medicaid funding, Medicare funding and plots the destruction of Social Security.

4. It was a photo op
See, Bush DOES care about black people. See, here he is at Mrs. King's funeral. See, doesn't he look sad?

The fact that he's attempting to undo so much of her hard work is another thing.

Mrs. King was a great lady, respected and admired all over the world, by people of all colors. She had more dignity in her pinky finger than Bush will ever have in his whole body. Bush will never know the respect and admiration Mrs. King has known, because he just isn't as good a person as she was. And he never will be.

5. His approval ratings among African-Americans is about 2%
There is no other reason, except for a photo op. Of course, thats tied into approval ratings I suppose.
