Commissioner Kathy Castor (Big Dem) cast the only vote against placing the issue on the Nov. 7 election ballot as a nonbinding referendum question. She questioned the logic for such a vote.

"This is an overt political move that is completely unnecessary," Castor said. "We could have by early summer, and this would stand out as blatantly political."

IMHO, we will see a lot more of this fundie hot button issues in 06 elections with the Roves of the world hoping if they can get the fundies out they will hold the US House and Senate....
