strategies and forecasts for 2006
Edited on Thu Feb-09-06 07:45 PM by wyldwolf
Democrats have a slew of vulnerable House Republicans in their sights for the 2006 midterm elections.

In a surprising number of red states, Democratic governors are more popular than President Bush. Here's why.

come November, the headlines may call 2006 "The Year of the Democratic Governor."

How I Won
By Gov. Tim Kaine
Building on the popularity of Gov. Mark Warner, Kaine offered voters a compelling personal story, a shrewd suburban strategy, and a clear vision for Virginia's future. He won strong in a red state.

3. Impressive Kaine story; you cannot imagine how pleasing it is to hear
about strategizing correctly and staying ahead of a negative campaigner like Kilgore. Was transportation solutions the only hot button issue? I don't know enough about VA demographics so I am wondering how support fared across the non-suburban parts of the State.

I would like to see more candidates get the real pulse of their constituents and work relentessly on those issues. People respond positively to issues that matter most to them, something I don't think that our corporate-polished pols appreciate anymore.

I hope Kaine stays on message with his constituents. I hope other candidates take notice of the strategy.
