Bush Lies? (Catalog)
What I am looking for is a catalog of ALL Bush lies cataloged by date, and can be demonstratably false via links to rock hard evidence. Is there such a thing out there?

I would also like one for the half truths.

2. What we need is a database
something we can search the lie and the proof, then use it to fight the regime.

6. lets start with 911
Sept.11 2001 9:37 AM..bush speaks to a wounded nation and says," I do not know who crashed those commercial jets into the World Trade Center" that now as we know is a MAJOR LIE. According to the Timeline of Terror @
cooperativeresearch.org bush was well aware of the impending attacks. His Aug 6 2001 PDB clearly stated "weeks
many many dead very very big uproar."
So,with that in mind lets add them as they roll in..

9. Hey! GREAT idea! I'd bet somebody is keeping track out there somewhere.
It's just too obvious, and too good an objective.

I had a similar one the other day - starting to compile a list of all the people/groups/entities who have, in some way or other, been tarnished, screwed, ruined, betrayed, or otherwise left bruised and bleeding and far less/worse/poorer than they were up through the year 2000... before this asshole "TOOK" office. Everything from the City of New Orleans and Brownie to the New York Times and Judy Miller to scooter and Valerie Plame and Harvey Pitt and Paul O'Neill and Christie Todd Whitman and our surplus and our reputation internationally and the World Trade Center and the Museums in Baghdad. And Baghdad itself, for that matter. And on and on. My list is three pages long so far.

10. And his omissions... and his contradictions...
Especially his contradictions... like when he says in a speech to vets on one day that he's there for them and wants to support them (etc), and the next day, the White House announces cuts for them. It seems like that's been a common activity on their part... announce support for something and the very next day (or couple of days) they cut existing support or otherwise do the opposite (the contradiction) of what they said...

Recent example... in his SOTU, he claimed he would support efforts to make alternate energy a viable option (especially biomass/ethanol), the next day, his Department of Energy cuts a number of it's scientists, mostly those in the biomass research areas...

Go figure.

Yes, a database of such items... with a means, such as Wikipedia has, by which the official statement of the problem or rebuttal can be improved over time. If we could round up a group of the best writers, and provide them a compilation of the statements, facts, details and so forth--and have them produce highly eloquent, charismatic essays to encapsulate and express the issues in the most powerful way possible... Wow, imagine selecting a specific issue... and instantly finding the most effective essay imaginable to give you both the facts and the most incisive way to speak on the issue...

The collection could then almost automatically produce a series of books... one for each category of problems--complete with appendices containing the hard facts. Too Cool.

Have we got any "think-tanks" with people skilled in Rhetoric, Debate, Framing, (and things like Thought Control, Advertising and so on)? Have them do a version of the issues specifically for debate--and taking back that part of people's minds that have been so obfuscated and controlled by the Republican slant on every issue...

11. Great idea !
I have been thinking along the same lines. There have been so many lies and obfuscations which have been brought to light, that I am beginning to forget about many of the earlier ones.

I think such a list would be a great thing to have for discussion with Rethug friends (yes, friends, we mutually decided not to discuss politics if at all possible)--sort of a "Let's Review....." list. When confronted with the long list of proven lies and deceptions, SURELY repugs will begin to re-think their support of Bush and the neocon cabal !!!

18. Not Liar... He is a TERRORIST. Most colossal BOMB Threat in history
Edited on Fri Feb-10-06 08:26 PM by pat_k
Letters to the Nation, December 19, 2005

Westfield, NJ

I fear that as a prosecutor, Elizabeth de la Vega may have "undercharged" the defendants. This was not just some "third rate" attempt to criminally affect a national election (though they're guilty of that, too), or some underhanded money laundering of legitimate defense funds to finance illegal military escapades (though, again...). They said we should fear "mushroom clouds...in forty-five minutes." (Read it again.) This is called "terrorism"--in the form of a bomb threat.

"Lie" is NOT strong enough to describe what they are doing to us.

Bush is not a Liar, he is a Terrorist.

They did not "cherry pick" intelligence -- they conspired to Terrorize and Coerce us into the war they were hell-bent on waging.

They did not lie us into war -- they Terrorized us into war. They continue to terrorize us with empty threats to coerce the people into submitting to their illegitimate authority.

It is time to use stronger language.

Cataloging their lies may be useful for posterity, but we do not need a list of lies to bring them down. More is not better. Just keep hammering on the most devastating truths. Speak the truth in strong terms. There are absolutes and this is black and white.

He is terrorizing us. He is wiretapping Americans without a warrant -- a serious crime that demands punishment

(Please, no more of that subjectless, weak phrase "warrantless wiretapping" -- people don't hear about criminal "warrantless" anything on Law and Order -- the crime is acting "without a warrant.")

21. This is damned important!
“Secondly, there are such things as roving wiretaps. Now, by the way, any time you hear the United States government talking about wiretap, it requires -- a wiretap requires a court order. Nothing has changed, by the way. When we're talking about chasing down terrorists, we're talking about getting a court order before we do so. It's important for our fellow citizens to understand, when you think Patriot Act, constitutional guarantees are in place when it comes to doing what is necessary to protect our homeland, because we value the Constitution.”
