John Bolton was nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize....
is this a joke?? it was on Wikipedia...

John Bolton has been nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize February 7, 2006 by Sweden's former deputy prime minister and Liberal party leader Per Ahlmark for "for their repeated warnings and documentation of Iran's secret nuclear buildup and revealing Iran's "repeated lying" and false reports to the International Atomic Energy Agency."

Please say it is, has anyone heard of this being true??

3. No big deal. Anyone can be nominated. Ask Oprah.
She was too this year. As were over 200 other people.

The list of people who can nominate someone for a NPP are: Elected politicians, College professors, anyone with a PhD.... many people.

Let us focus on the good guys. The fools of the Iranian nuclear tragedy we already know. The International Atomic Energy Agency was duped for 18 years. Since its start in 1985, Iran’s atomic program has been an ambitious, highly deceptive project. However, the IAEA gave the regime a clean bill of nuclear health, over and over again. The first 12 of those years, gullible Hans Blix, IAEA director general, believed in almost everything Tehran told him. He arrogantly dismissed warnings. The likely Blix legacy: atomic bombs in the hands of the mullahs. His successor, Mohammed ElBaradei, inherited the illusions in 1997 and proceeded on a similar path. But disclosures by experts in the West - confirmed by militant groups within Iran - made the IAEA denial absurd. Mr. ElBaradei revealed the truth on Nov. 10, 2003 in a stunning report to the IAEA board of governors: Iran had been lying to the IAEA for almost two decades. I admit that I never heard of that report.

<snip> rant ... Hans Blix ... rant ... rant ... Iran wants nuclear weapons ... end of Israel ... nasty bad Muslims ... end rant </snip>

Kenneth R. Timmerman, a member of JINSA’s Board of Advisors, has been tracking Iranian government terrorism and Iranian weapons of mass destruction (WMD) programs for the past twenty years. His latest book, Countdown to Crisis: the Coming Nuclear Showdown with Iran will be released in paperback on March 1, 2006.

He is the author of two New York Times best-sellers: The French Betrayal of America (2004) and Shakedown: Exposing the Real Jesse Jackson (2002). Other books include Preachers of Hate: Islam and the War on America (2003), and The Death Lobby: How the West Armed Iraq (1991). He is a contributing editor to Newsmax and writes a weekly column for FrontPage magazine.

John R. Bolton, a former member of JINSA’s Board of Advisors, was appointed by President George W. Bush as United States Permanent Representative to the United Nations on August 1, 2005. Prior to his appointment, Ambassador Bolton served as Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security from May 2001 to May 2005.

The Honorable Per Ahlmark served as Deputy Prime Minister of Sweden from 1976-1978. Between 1975 and 1978, he was the elected leader of the Swedish Liberal Party. After retiring from politics, he founded the Swedish Committee Against Antisemitism. The Honorable Mr. Ahlmark is currently a JINSA Fellow.

Both nominees and the nominator are/were part of JINSA.

What is JINSA?

http://www.jinsa.org/home

It's an Israeli-American lobbying organization, with a military bent.

A google search shows it's name associated with PNAC and something called CSP. Mossad comes up a lot, too. There appears to be considerable overlap between the JINSA board and the PNACers. I don't know how credible the info is. I'm just saying that it's there.

how Kissinger helped prolong the Vietnam War, is one of the biggest :wtf: events of the twentieth century.
