Another angle on the "both sides are worthless" discussion
---------------------

Here is a statement, and my reply, from another messageboard.

---------------------

Him: Getting past the republican vs. democrat trap is the first big step towards seeking any type of political fact or truth.
Both are equally worthless.

Me: Oh really?
So after nearly 20 years of the airwaves being filled with how the "liberals" and "Democrats" are what's ruining our country.
After nearly 20 years of blame placed squarely at their feet of those "evil liberals", by what is now over 450 RW talk-show hosts (only 20 liberal hosts BTW) nationwide...it has come to this?
It has come to "both sides are equally worthless"?
Yeah right.

When it gets tough sledding for the conservatives then this is the best they can come up with?

Again, in order to take the"both sides" view then obviously you have given up.
Obviously you don't visit the House and Senate websites and watch how they vote and what Bills they put forward.
It's so much easier to just claim they are both equally "worthless".
That attitude allows and easy out for you and your Representative.
Our representative democracy takes vigilance over, and communication with, those representing us.
If you want to not do anything politically just say so, but to say "both sides are the same" paints everyone of them with a broad brush and allows for a cop out.
I say get involved and get active instead.

2. I like that
"Hog the credit and share the blame".

Good lazer like analysis of that terrible game.
One that I will use in my quest to disspell apathy.

Thanks!
