L'euphémisme du jour .............
The teevee yakkers have been coached in how to soften Deadeye Dick's image .... please listen for this phraseology and see how far they've managed to catapult the propaganda **this** time .......

".... the vice president peppered his hunting partner with birdshot ..... "

The variation I've also heard today is:

".... the vice president sprayed his hunting partner with birdshot ..... "

More concise, of course, would be the truth:

"The vice president shot a man in a hunting accident."

I know full well this is a small potatoes thing .... its just words.

But gawddammit ..... words matter. They leave impressions. To soften the facts here makes Deadeye Dick look human.

He's not.

5. "knocked him silly"
Like a cartoon -- he saw little stars, tweeting birds, and bubbles... "Silly!"

6. Pepper ... spray - just like shaking a little on your hash browns.
Very benign thing? No big deal? So that's how they're doing it? Thanks for
reporting.

8. That's the truth!
I also noticed that the people attending the
guy hat was shot changed from "Cheney's medical
team" to "Secret Service agents".

I heard that but it didn't dawn on me till you mentioned it.

"Let us not remind the country that the man is damn-near dead."

10. The VP carelessly shot a man with a shotgun.
Then the "incident" went unreported for 18 hours. Was beverage alcohol (to use the quaint term favored by the late senator John Tower) involved?

Drunk? Again?

11. So sad. Warlord bungle; supporter lose face.
Not to be too icky, but did you get the Deadeye Dick appellation from me? I've been calling the tramautic duo "Ninnyboy and Deadeye Dick" for a couple of years here.

(Man I hate these clowns...)

Also, has anyone ever compiled the number of birds this asshole's killed for sport over the past few years? There was one instance where he killed 400 on a little excursion of joy, and they were farm-raised at that; they didn't have a chance.

12. Deadeye Dick ..... not mine .....
I saw it in a number of posts over the last day or so, all related to this incident.

If the appealation is yours, you have my admiration. Its great! Imitation is, as you know, the sincerest form of flattery. :hi:

13. Here is how is spun this AM on our local news
"The VP shot him with a pellet gun. He was hit by a few BB's."

Seriously, my husband and I looked at each other and laughed...I had predicted this the night before, and hubby said "you called it hon!"
