What we know is they covered it up for a day, interfered with the police investigation, and lied when they announced how serious a wound it was. And that they lied about Cheney and the ranch owner agreeing that she would reveal the story.

After all that, I don't care whose fault it was. I want to know why they lied about what we can prove they lied about.

Quail are usually kicked out of the rough, so they're close to retrieve. Unlike Pheasant and duck which can be quite far away, thus the use of dogs to retrieve.
