Schumer Questions Dubai Deal for U.S. Ports
February 13th, 2006 @ 2:41 pm
It seems there’s a plan in the works to outsource control of 6 major U.S. ports to a Dubai company, and Senator Chuck Schumer has stepped up to question the deal. Obviously this is a national security issue as Schumer points out, WTF are they thinking now…
Speaking on FAUX TV, Schumer “expressed reservations about the deal in which the British port and ferries group Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Company approved a takeover bid by DP World of Dubai.”
“Should we be outsourcing our own security?” Schumer said in the interview
“We have to have hands-on control of things. And to have United Arab Emirates — I mean, they are a country that’s allied with the US, but at the same time a whole bunch of the (September 11) hijackers came from the United Arab Emirates.”
