Hackett backer - This is why the republican can win time and again
when you don't get your candidate, you fight to destroy the other guy, even when that means destroying the party.
Of in this case the only shot at taking out a republican.

I can't even count how many times I have seen Democrats start trashing members of their own party because their candidate wasn't the CHOSEN ONE.

Do you want the Republicans to stay in power?

I assume the answer is NO. So lets stop this crap of trying to drag a solid Progressive Congressman through the mud because a veteran did not make the grade.

We need to take this extra time to concentrate on beating the pukes!

1. I can't believe they had the gall
to call his donors to get his funding cut off. That's going to leave a bad taste in everyone's mouth. This will have repercussions.

8. It's disgusting. Looks like the leadership doesn't want to deal
with another Howard Dean.

14. "I can't believe they had the gall

It happens all the time. This IS why this Party loses time after time. Another shot to its own foot by a Party that is already on crutches.

2. Agreed! The sniveling needs to end and the work begin
I am disappointed but not hopeless like some in here. As long as Hackett supports the guy, I don't see how it's in anyone's best interest to trash him in Hackett's name.

3. ''make the grade''?
can't the people of ohio decide that in a primary?

what's wrong with that?

and don't tell me resources -- that's what resources are for.

6. Brown and Hackett spend millions on a primary while Dewine works on Nov.
Gee lets have two of our own battle it out and then the winner, however bloody and broke will get to take on a candidate who has a full bank account, fresh out of the gate and a head start on top of.

It is simply allowing the most viable candidate to get that even start with the other side. Why can't anyone see that?

9. Brown created that situation, not Hackett.
It was only after Brown had repeatedly said that he was not running against DeWine and Dem leadership asked Hackett to run that Hackett announced.

Brown changed his mind and decided to run three days later...

4. I just don't think we can beat the pukes if we act just like them.
I have nothing against Brown...I'm just pissed at the Dem leadership who can't do anything right, as in letting Bush win the battle of breaking the law with wiretaps, decide who people should have as their candidates.

5. I back Hackett
and I never said anything negative about that other guy Hackett was running against. All I said was that I would have sent money to Hackett. I don't even know the other, so I won't be sending money. My anger is with Reid and Schumer.

10. Just another example...
of our Democratic process being derailed by a few know-it-alls in some backroom in Washington.

The Demo's should know that a groundswell of support for Hackett translates to major publicity during the election lead-up. He had the chance. He had the ability to make waves in November and beyond. But not now. I don't blame Hackett for picking up his marbles and going home.

The guy is a master at generating publicity for himself and his cause. What has Sherrod Brown ever done to get his name publicized outside of the 216 area code???? Now we have to rely on the Democratic leadership to tell us what is good for us. WTF.

I can tell you one thing, I will not be voting for Sherrod Brown in November.

12. The Ohio voters didn't get to choose!
It was the party hacks like Schumer and Reid who made the choice to sabotage Hackett, the Ohio voters be damned!
