NOW IT'S BROTHER JOHN'S TURN TO SHOOT AT CHENEY
Now that the Republican season is officially open, Senator Kerry is on the hunt. Don't worry, unlike Reich-Marshall Cheney he has a proper hunting license and he's a VERY good shot.

In my email the Senator writes:

Dear Patrick,

In the last 24 hours, we've seen troubling reports that Dick Cheney directed "Scooter" Libby to release classified information to discredit critics of the war in Iraq...we've heard hard-to-ignore accusations from a former top CIA official that the White House "cherry picked" intelligence to make the case for war...and we've received stunning evidence that the president sat on his hands and did nothing for 12 hours after the White House had been informed that the levees broke in New Orleans.

Enough is enough.

Contribute Today to Break Their Grip on Power

Yesterday, we launched our nine-month Break Their Grip on Power campaign and thousands of people from all across the nation have already acted. Add your voice to our efforts right now.

Let's expose the culture of corruption that has engulfed the Republican Congress and the culture of incompetence that has swallowed up the White House. Let's get the focus back on solving the enormous challenges the people of this country are facing because of lack of leadership from Washington.

Contribute Today to Break Their Grip on Power

Every step of the way in 2006, we'll support Democratic candidates - giving them the help they need to break the Republicans' grip on power.

And, when the Republicans and their henchmen launch their vicious attacks on our candidates, we'll fight back with force and redouble our support for any candidate they target.

That's what it's going to take to win - nine months of relentless effort. And it has to start now. Let's go to work.

Sincerely,

John Kerry

There's plenty of good hunting on the Hill and game is probably running around in YOUR home state.

Happy hunting

1. You should really add that you edited in the last 2 lines
The real letter ends with the Senator's name. At least that's how minw reads.

into something like photobucket.com. Then you put the link to the photobucket in the DU post.

8. You'll need to store it somewhere like Photobucket
Photobucket is a free online pic hosting website. www.photobucket.com

Simply upload your pix to photobucket, then copy the IMG source it gives you, paste it into the body of your post, and voila.

20. Oh, yeah, I agree with that....
....my only point is that the Village Idiot isn't capable of doing anything on his own. He has to be spoon fed, and the Dickster is the feeder. And the feeder is being pushed by the ultra-rich, of which he is one, along with everyone he hangs with. The VI is just incapable of the job that he is supposed to be doing, and thus I don't believe he is really doing it. Much like Reagan, when he Alzheimers kicked in LONG before anyone was told....except WORSE!

12. Do you guys really think this is bold leadership?
Enough is enough means now. Not nine months from now. Immediately. Do not pass go, do not collect $200.

How can we accept any more of this, loss of innocent until proven guilty, loss of privacy, activists regarded as terrorists, protesting from "free speech zones" where government-paid reporters won't cover us, destruction of the environment, bankrupt economy funding immoral and illegal wars, using depleted uranium (Mr. Bush's slow motion holocaust).

Do you understand that the Bush/Hitler comparisons aren't apt but only because Bush has sentenced to death far more than Hitler ever killed?

Bush and Cheney will never stand for impeachment. Despite the long shot, it is conceivable that impeachment proceedings will be brought. But at that time, do you think that this cabal will suddenly begin to live by the rule of law?

You know they hold power by whatever means necessary and will simply not allow themselves to be put on trial for their lives. Oh yeah, remember, if relevant matters of impeachment are openly discussed we will not lose sight of the War Crimes Act of 1996 which makes it a crime punishable by death to violate or order others to violate the Geneva Convention. These war criminals will literally never stand for an impeachment trial.

And Kerry's message isn't talking about this anyway. It also isn't talking about the fact that there is no basis for confidence in the results reported from our elections. Paperless electronic voting, and even secret proprietary machines with a paper trail, are not verifiable. Under current conditions, we are going to continue having "elections" with inconclusive outcomes - where there is not unanimous acceptance of the results.

Whose reality do you want to live by? You know what problems we're facing. John Kerry is talking to you in a way that is meant to create some kind of empathy - he feels your pain and wants to address the same things you do. But then he doesn't even come close to addressing them with his slogans and empty rhetoric. We must do better. Non-violent revolution has become necessary, NOW!

14. Relax, I'm not attacking you
We can't talk about fixing anything if we pretend like elections are for real. And we're not doing ourselves any favors pretending like anybody in government has any business behaving like business as usual while we have war criminals that have hijacked our government and hold power illegitimately. Do you honestly believe this is what Kerry is talking about addressing? Does it make sense to think of such urgent matters over a nine-month arc where the priority is getting financial contributions? Kerry really isn't the point here at all. I only felt inspired to say these things here, which I've said many times before, because it seemed like the responses to the letter were disregarding this broader perspective.

29. Great stuff! Favorite parts:
"Gals Only Hunt (for male republican genitalia, magnifying glasses furnished)"

"Big Main Hunt (quail only on request: Republicans running free in fields baited with gold!)"

I was talking with someone about the whole abortion-on-toast that is Bush/Cheney, and as I left to let her get back to her work, she sighed and said of Bush/Cheney, "Why couldn't they just go hunting together..."

17. Jeffersons Ghost, I worked for Kerry and gave a boat load...but
I get to say this and will say it again and again: THE ELECTION WAS STOLEN. THEY DID NOTHING TO CHALLENGE IT. THEY HAVE DONE NOTHING. WE'RE NOT WAITING AROUND FOR THE SECURED SEATS TO STAND UP AND TAKE A POSITION ON THIS.

I want national health care.

I want WTO burned in a big trash bin (which escaped the letter).

I want responsible judges.

We get none of this until a reality based admission is forthcoming:

IT WAS STOLEN.

If somebody stoke my life savings and mugged me 15 months ago, I'd still be pissed off.

Well I'm still pissed off because somebody stole my country for a second time.

Kerry is uniquely qualified to lead the charge here. DEMAND AN END TO REPUBLICAN
CONTROLLED MACHINE VOTING. DEMAND AN INVESTIGATION INTO OHIO 2004 AND OTHER CASES
OF OBVIOUS ELECTION FRAUD.

It's our country, our votes are sacred. They were defiled.

15. This needs to be mentioned--global death sentence. "On edit"
A record loss of sea ice in the Arctic this summer has convinced scientists that the northern hemisphere may have crossed a critical threshold beyond which the climate may never recover. Scientists fear that the Arctic has now entered an irreversible phase of warming which will accelerate the loss of the polar sea ice that has helped to keep the climate stable for thousands of years.

They believe global warming is melting Arctic ice so rapidly that the region is beginning to absorb more heat from the sun, causing the ice to melt still further and so reinforcing a vicious cycle of melting and heating.

The greatest fear is that the Arctic has reached a "tipping point" beyond which nothing can reverse the continual loss of sea ice and with it the massive land glaciers of Greenland, which will raise sea levels dramatically.

The Independent, 2/11/06 Summary here: http://www.pastpeak.com/archives/2005/09/northern_hemisp.htm

I don't know how to break this to everybody but this is a 200,000,000 person death sentence. That's right. See the reprint of the entire article at Common Dreams.

We're totally fucked! Might be nice if the Senate Dems stopped screwing Hackett and other liberals and paid attention to this.
