Stealing from the rich and giving to the poor is the mantra of Liberalism. Me, I'm 24... not even two years out of college as a history major and the government took 25% of what I made last year. Most of that will go to the welfare programs you cherish so dearly. These programs do nothing to elevate.. they simply allow the poor to live contentedly in mediocrity. "From each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs." A beautiful philospohy... of Socialism. That's a Carl Marx quote, kids. Welfare state and government healthcare is socialism. We are a capitalist society. What does that mean? If you don't have healthcare, work harder, and get yourself a job that has those benefits. I'm 24, and I pay no more than $!5 any time my wife or myself falls ill. Because I work hard for it. If you want to feel secure, go out and get a job. Work hard and be successful for yourself. Do not rely on the government to feed you, clothe you and provide for your well-being. Take it upon yourself.
I didn't get to where I am because I was raised in privilege. I was born into a military family, and only went to college because I applied for every scholarship I could get my white male middle-class hands on. Lo and behold, I got one. Then I got a job. A job that is demanding but rewarding, and that isn't usually enjoyable. But I work hard at it because I know that when I have grandchildren, I know I'll be in a secure place... and won't have to rely on the government to keep me there.

Most of that money goes to building roads, building schools, building hospitals, maintaining the power grid, water system, sewer system, and a good chunk of the telecommunications infrastructure in this country. Grow up and stop thinking so selfishly and realize your attitude is not helping the billions in the world who are being exploited at their own expense by greed-soaked souls who are only interested in their own material gain.

It is dumbasses like you who want to cut funding to all those things because you want to keep more money for yourself, and it's bringing down this country as a result.

Oh yeah, those public universities were built with TAXPAYER DOLLARS! I oughta know because I'm in fucking college right now! Just shut up and go give most of your profits to your employer. Be thankful your employer wants to pay you that much instead of going to China and replacing you with a Chinese worker or a worker from India for a fraction of what you expect to be paid.
