1. What is the point of that?
Seeing those photos (juxtaposed with Cheney speaking about his rough week) just creates sympathy.

2. It gets the photos most viewed and highest rated where people who aren't
follwing this story will see them. The internet is the ultimate Nielsen family and everythibg we click through to, rate and how long we spend (stickiness) is being tracked. It determines ad rates, interest and ultimately could shape news coverage. It is how we can "reward" media for covering things other than blond missing white women.

3. Whittington's tie colour matches his bruising
Edited on Sat Feb-18-06 02:49 PM by Benbow
That's interesting. That must be deliberate.

news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/060217/ids_photos_ts/r1857685150.jpg

The subliminal propaganda battle of the ties, this week, Cheney and him? Cheney wearing a "friendly", "feminine-side" pink tie, while he tells the nation about "the worst moment of his life" (after which he had a cocktail and dinner, and waited perhaps 36 hours before letting "his friend" be taken ot hospital). Whittington's chest bruising (which we can't see but know about) symbolised by his tie.

Edit: to do something about "image link contains an illegal code". You need to put the h t t p : / / in front of the above URL.

4. The damage done
"Pellets And The Damage Done"

I shot you huntin'
at my fellas farm
I love you, Harry,
do you want some more
Ooh, ooh, the damage done.

(sung to Neil Young)

5. One of the things that DUers can do is to always click through to articles
that expose this administration. We as a community can wield the click through as a weapon. The freeptards understand this. This is why they attempt to down rate the very stories we rate up.
