wanting money of course. I don't know that much about them and have become very selective about which Democrat orgs. I'll donate to. In short, should I donate or would it just be throwing money down a rat hole?

There's no way to really contact these people. I gave over a thousand to the Kerry campaign, but there was no way in the field to give any input. Give to local campaigns. Volunteer.

3. I donated to them

I think it is important to elect dems to Congress. However, 2 weeks after I donated I got a call asking for money, then another call, and they have called so much I have asked them to stop and will no longer donate. I just received a mailer from them, but am afraid to donate money because I can't stand getting these repetitive phone calls. I only have so much money.

This is one of my chief fundraising peeves, and not only in politics. You want to be able to feel generous after giving, like you've done something good. The result is that they come right straight back forcing you to either give more or feel like a turd for refusing.

I would send my money to the Progressive Democrats of America (http://www.pdamerica.org) or to specific candidates. After the Democrats failed to stand up for Alito Fillibuster and then making Hackett back out, I am done sending money straight to the party.

DCCC is the House (however, the DCCC has a nasty habit of sticking their nose into local primaries and using the money sent to them to pit Democrat against Democrat).

For that reason I'd either give to the DNC (national party) or to the individual candidates (or Democratic group of your choice).
