Orrin Hatch: "Nobody With Brains Denies Hussein Was Supporting al-Qaeda"
http://thinkprogress.org/2006/02/21/nobody-with-brains/

Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-UT): ‘Nobody With Brains’ Denies That Hussein ‘Was Supporting al-Qaeda’

What Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-UT) said about Saddam Hussein’s relationship with al-Qaeda on Saturday:

Nobody denies that Saddam Hussein was supporting al-Qaeda…Well, I shouldn’t say nobody. Nobody with brains.

What the bi-partisan 9-11 commission said about Saddam Hussein’s relationship with al-Qaeda:

The Sept. 11 commission reported yesterday that it has found no “collaborative relationship” between Iraq and al Qaeda, challenging one of the Bush administration’s main justifications for the war in Iraq.

Hatch made his remarks at an invitation-only luncheon. They’ve only been reported in a small Utah paper, The St. George Daily Spectrum.

1. And since this is Orrin Hatch talking, what does one expect. He
may be accused of being many things but intelligent is not one.

6. Keep repeating the lie, and they will believe.
Josef Goebbels would be so proud of Orrin.

7. Orrin Hatch was the one who announced to the world...
that the US was tracking Osama's satellite phone communications. Who the fuck he is to talk about brains is anyone's guess.

8. I'd also
point out that only this week a tape from OBL said that people in Iraq are worse off under US occupation that they were under Sadaam. In other words, he's saying Sadaam was a shitbag but Bush is worse. Hardly a ringing endorsement of his old "buddy"...

Fact of the matter: OBL and Sadaam were/are diametrically opposed on every level from philosophical to personal. Let's not forget that Iraq under Sadaam was secular. Just like Al-Queda, right? Jesus...
