A few more questions about the Ports sale??
First question: Who owns the British company that stands to make a huge profit off this sale?
Is it true that the Dubai company is the same one that shipped the nuclear materials from Pakistan to Iran and North Korea? (I heard a reporter mention that on MSNBC this morning)
Would Dubai ownership make it easier to ship in a nculear device in a shipping container?
Since only one-third of Senators are up for re-election this year, will the other two-thirds, or majority of those, stand behind Bush if he vetoes any bill that tries to prevent this sale? (He only needs 34 Senators to keep his veto intact...)

1. I will take the last question
I believe all, or nearly all, GOP Senators and members of the House will support legislation to block this sale to Dubai, if it comes to that. We might very well see a scenario play out, where Monkey Boy calls them in to 'explain' himself to them, then all of a sudden they are satisfied and go along. But I don't think it will be defused like that. If Smirky does indeed veto such legislation, they will vote to override.

All GOP Senators, as you have pointed out, are not up for re-election this year. But I assure you, every single one is very anxious about the possibility of Democrats regaining majority control of the Senate. These Senators are also fearful of the same thing happening in the House. So is Dubya. And so, their intention is to at least make it appear that they are opposed to this sale. Lots of registered voters, pukes and Democrats, are utterly opposed to it.

But I've started to wonder if this whole thing might just be a Karl Rove scam. I know that many voters are concerned about the complete lack of Congressional oversight we have had since King George II took office.

More than that, this has been the most compliant Congress of my lifetime. Shrub has not used the veto even once, because he tells them what he expects legislation to look like and they submit. If pending legislation is not to his liking, he dictates changes and they obey. So, why has almost every single GOP member of Congress all of a sudden decided to take such a high profile position of opposition?

Maybe it's all orchestrated, to convince voters that this GOP Congress will courageously act to reign in the Executive branch when and if it's called for. Then after November it's back to being the Blank Check Congress. Didn't the White House just call in all the puke members of Congress for a big pow-wow, about a week ago? Could this have all been worked out then?

I don't believe Dubya really cares a lot one way another about the sale of these ports. This is a good one for him to surrender on, to make GOP Congressional reps look big. What Dubya really cares about is more and more tax cuts for the wealthy elite and their corporations, world conquest according to the gospel of PNAC, and gutting our social programs. He has a better chance of achieving these goals if his lapdogs continue to have the majority in the House and Senate.

3. also ask
1. why can't an American company step to make a deal?
2. How flush with cash are these middle eastern companies as the result of sky high oil and gas prices?
3. this deal would give the Dubai company access to almost all of the products entering US ports, that knowledge alone is a threat to national security, right?
4. who exactly scrutinized this? officials that got their degrees out of a Cheerio's box?
