If Iraq Ends Up In a Civil War....
what do you think the chances would be that Saddam could be set free (rescued) by his supporters? The way everything else has turned out lately, nothing would surprise me. Just a thought.

1. Didn't you get the memo?
You're not supposed to call it a "Civil War". I think the accepted neo-con euphemism is "the recent unpleasantness".

11. It's not a funny subject matter but "the recent unpleasantness".......
......is just too funny. The sad part is that indeed sounds like something a rethug would say though. :eyes:

5. send them on the first plane .....
out. The RNC must have an extensive database of repugs, we can use that as our master list.

I'm in favor of your brilliant suggestion, so put me down as a YES.

10. Sounds good to me! Don't forget the young repugs who worked to get
Dimson** back into the White House and who might not have been old enough to vote in '04!

3. Very long shot! Not something I'd bet for! They'll either end up like
Iran or like Iraq was with Saddam

4. Iraq is in a civil war and has been so for quite awhile. It took
the Mosque bombing to expose the strife.

8. A real long shot--the Shi'a hate him, and they have the critical mass
The Sunnis won't get much help IF the "coalition authorities" leave--I mean, after all, the insurgents want to fight us over there, because it's a shorter trip for them. If we leave, to hell with Iraq...they can sort the mess out themselves, unless the place becomes SO Wild West that it becomes a TERRISTS R US outlet, like Lebanon was back in the day, and Afghanistan as well.

The Kurds will bow out of the mess if they possibly can--they have great infrastructure, Saddam largely left them alone in the latter part of his regime, and they just want those oil fields around Kirkuk, so they can create for themselves a nation and tell the rest of those fighting bastards to go screw themselves. After all, they aren't Arab, they are Kurdish, Indo-European, with a completely different language and social structure. They've always wanted their own nation (BACK, frankly)....and if the timing is right, they just might get it.

9. I imagine they would have to get into a US base
and that might be next to impossible. Besides, most Iraqis would either flee in terror from Saddam, or kill him on sight with their bare hands.
