Patriot Act renewal set to come before senate this week

CAPITOL HILL There's more than one national security issue facing Congress as lawmakers return after a weeklong break.

In addition to the controversial port deal, the Senate is set to renew the Patriot Act. The renewal has been delayed twice while lawmakers worked to balance civil liberties with the tools given to law enforcement.

Just before the Senate left on its mid-winter break, it rejected an effort to block the renewal.

A final Senate vote is expected Wednesday.

1. And once again, Feingold will stand alone and watch...
helplessly as the very core of America is eaten away.
