12. Nah, they were probably somewhat liquored up, and already
familiar with Cleland and his ways.

In a shocking era, even the humor by necessity is taken up a notch. The people in the White House are rather horrific, nasty and even murderous people who have stood everything on its head...don't you agree?

Welcome to DU!

maybe your name refers to the Bushies. ;) :hi:

Cleland has been through so much for such a long time and his courage and integrity have never failed. He's a true inspiration:

"In everyone's life, at some time, our inner fire goes out. It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being. We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit." –Albert Schweitzer, philosopher, physician, and musician (1875-1965)

9. He ought to do a commercial.
To counter all the foul innuendos that were made against him when he lost his race. It would poke fun at the Republicans' ridiculous accusations. I'm beginning to think ridicule might be appropriate this election season. How can we not point and laugh?

36. More about Max
If you want to know more about Max Cleland find the documentary about him called "Strong at the Broken Places". I had tears in my eyes while watching it, he makes me proud to be an American. Kind of hard to feel that way these days.

37. Max Cleland, you are one-of-a-kind
Bravo!

BTW, my husband's boss sent him a joke email yesterday. It explained how nervous the WH is regarding the bird flu. The Commander-In-Competent thought for a moment and then said "Let's bomb the Canary Islands!"

Also, one of his co-workers has had enough. He finally took down his * calendar a few weeks ago and threw it in the trash.

44. Good one Max.....
I really wish he would return to the Senate, it's a shame what Saxby Chambliss and the other repukes did when they played dirty politics to get him out of the Senate like comparing him to Bin Laden and saying that he's unpatriotic.

Yeah and this was coming from a guy(Chambliss)who fucking dodged the Vietnam war.
