Liberals advising a TV News network
http://www.speakspeak.org/speak-blog/2006/03/30/advisers-to-the-real-news/

In 2007, we should see the debut of a TV network called "The Real News."

It would be shown on satellite channel "Link TV" and streamed on the web.

The list of people on their Journalist Advisory Committee is like a Who's Who of the Left:

"The Real News" is the new name of "Independent World Television."

1. HOT DANG!
My living situation is up in the air for now, but I'll look forward to getting it when the dust settles.

2. You have until September 2007 for the debut,
if you want this on satellite (DISH TV channel Link TV.)

Also, it will be streamed for free on the web.

3. I watch Link TV and FSTV
Those are the best news stations in the US (although they show many cultural programs and documentaries also)

4. This is the Independent World Television (IWT)
that has been gearing up to launch for over a year now... I met these people at a Media Conference in St Louis Mo. last year.. I've been patiently waiting for 2007 - it would be nice if they were able to get on Cable between somewhere between CNN and FOX /MSNBC.

there's a few open channels with useless programming that IWT could concievably acquire.

but in the meantime, Real News will be programming broadcast on Link and FSTV..

5. They're saying September 2007, and so
even after 2007 starts, we'll still have to wait 8-9 months.

7. You can help them by joining their mailing list at...
http://www.iwtnews.com/join

A bigger mailing list will be a sign of interest which will help "The Real News" to negotiate with cable companies.

9. This doesn't guarantee we will see it
Sadly, unless the wingers who own Comcast/DishNetwork/etc. decide we can see it, we won't. If it's not Republican enough, it won't get distributed.

10. I'm expecting it to be on the web and "Link TV" of DISH satellite.

As for Comcast cable*, Time Warner cable, DirectTV satellite, maybe not.

But we can watch it for free on the web (starting in September 2007 hopefully.)

* - I get Comcast cable.
