A leader that goes looking for war...
Edited on Sat Apr-08-06 07:06 AM by kentuck
George W Bush has publically stated that the best way to become a "great" president is to be a "war" president. In this sick mind, the idea was incubated for many years that he wanted to be a "great" president...and the only way to do that was to win a war. In his perverted thinking, he thought he could start a war that he was sure he could win. Then the people would cheer the great leader.

Further, he has stated his disapproval of his father for not completing the war against Saddam in 1992. He enthusiastcially signed on to the ill-advised neo-con agenda in the Middle East. "Well done", said his Vice President, as he patted him on the back. So he made the decision.

He would have his war, even if he had to lie to the American people. After all, nobody would question the president in the time of war, he thought. He was only doing what he thought needed to be done in order to go down in history. America is a very patriotic and nationalistic country so he knew most would be behind him, especially after 9/11. (Whether or not it is MIHOP or LIHOP is open to debate)

So the megalomaniac lied our country into war. Our country still cannot rationalize his motivations. But they are simple enough. This war is about him. How can he become a great president? Unfortunately, it has exposed a sick mind that has manipulated his followers and his Cabinet with his "either you are with me or you are against me" mentality. Right now, the debate should be whether or not he should be in prison or in a mental institution.

1. K&R but I think of the PTBs (powers that be) behind the bushes
and his father's involvement in so many scandals against the American people including the Joint Chiefs Northwood documents about the Castro aimed "New Pearl Harbor" and the Washington Post mentioned these documents for years trying to warn us.

is funny only because it's true.

2. You are 100% correct
That Bush was determined to have a war even before he took office only makes the whole business that much more tragic. Young lives lost, women and children killed and maimed, a poor country blown to rubble, and so many tears shed...all of this just to cater to an arrogant man's determination to have things his way. There are some of our soldiers who came back, but with such terrible head injuries that they will never be the same, some who are without limbs, some who are blind. All of this, and more, this pathetic excuse for a man was more than willing to bring about.

History will place Bush not with the great leaders of their times, but with the tyrants, the cruel, and the bloodthirsty. He might even be sick enough to crave even that title, if it means that his name will be spoken in future years, but it will be in competition with Hitler, Stalin, and Pol Pot.

9. I was listening to Pittsburgh's KDKA radio this morning
and talk show asshole Rob Pratt said in history 25 or 30 years from now Bush* will be looked upon as one of our greatest leaders for that reason. We just don't realize what a great man we have in GWB. I just can't figure what the hell America was thinking back in 2000. Wouldn't we be allot better off if Bush* was getting a little on the side than screwing us every day?

10. Father issues yes,
but I would still argue Cheney and company were the main impetus of the Iraq war. It was Cheney and Wolfowitz's draft of new Defense Planning Guidlines in 1992 that serve as the model for the administration's current unilateral posture. The fact is, on 9/11 the Bush administration was caught completely off-guard and decided that the best defense against criticism would be to go balls out against a regime Americans were familiar with and reviled, who could be easily framed as having a part in the attacks, and whose military would be easily defeated by superior U.S. forces. I believe he does want to be a great President, but I also believe he feared being remembered as the one who cost 3,000 civilians their lives.
