I have an Icon on my property and want DHS funds to help protect it

At the foot of my driveway are two peonie beds. This is one of them, taken last year after a rainstorm.



I call peonies Mother Nature's Practical Joke. She made the most simply gorgeous flower, but then decided she's have ants pollinate them. So they can never come inside to be enjoyed. She also made the flowers heavier than the stems can bear, causing them to fall to the ground just as soon as a nice rain falls on them.

In any case, these particular peonies are a national treasure. In my mind, they have iconic status. I think maybe I can apply to DHS for some funds to protect them. Maybe some special peonie supports like I bought a few years ago at the local Ace Hardware. Or maybe a way to rid a few of the more select flowers of their ant buddies so I can take them indoors for a while. And of course, we'll need a lot of research to allow the flowers to last more than a week or two.

Yes, there's a great need for funds for my icons.

1. My parents had a gorgeous Saguaro cactus, well over 150 years

old, on their property. One of my sisters still lives there.

Saguaros are disappearing rapidly from the only place they are found--the Sonoran deserts of Arizona and Mexico.

Where do I sign up?
