"We are in a war..."
Edited on Thu Jun-29-06 09:54 PM by kentuck
My thought is: Would we still think we were in a war if we had not invaded Iraq? Wouldn't Afghanistan be cleaned up by now? At least, there would not be enough fighting going on to call it a "war". But the "war" is in Iraq mostly and I have a problem with these war-mongers that keep saying "we are in a war".
I want to say "Yeah mother fuckers, you intentionally put us in this war. Iraq was not a threat. What was wrong with wiping out the terrorists in Afghanistan? Was that not enough retribution? Was that not enough blood? Was that not enough revenge?

3. This reminded me of something I heard today...
I believe I heard that McCain said that the difference between Iraq and Vietman is that now the enemy will follow us home. Two thoughts come to mind: What fucking nonsense....the iraqi's just want us out of their country. And secondly, even if it were true, if we hadn't invaded and occupied their sovergn country, there wouldnt be anyone who wanted to follow us home from Iraq to cause us harm.

7. so it's better to fight and kill innocent iraqi's and occupy their home
land. Lord knows they don't matter and our lives are so much more important than theirs.

sarcasm:

The ignorance and arrogance of these warmongers is despicable at best.

4. If this is a war
who is qualified to sign a peace treaty for the terrorists? This is a phony war, waged by a phony president, and the cost to both Iraq and the United States is staggering. This is nothing but a power grab by Bush, Cheney, and their neocon cronies. They fight the war with other people's children, while their own offspring are free to enjoy the riches their treachery creates.

5. It is a war of convenience
It is very convenient to quell dissent by saying, "we shouldn't criticize our president in War Time."

The White House doesn't want this war to end because then they might be obligated to be accountable to the people.

6. "Wouldn't Afghanistan be cleaned up by now?"
no, it wouldn't and it isn't and it won't be ...

the only clean-up that was ever planned was the construction of a massive oil pipeline and the building of permanent US military bases to protect it ...

the "danger" must be kept on a slow boil to justify continued US occupation ... sound familiar? ... it should ... that's exactly the script being executed in Iraq ...
